A busy and popular holiday destination, Aviemore is the perfect base from which to explore the peace and tranquillity of the highland countryside whether on foot, mountain bike or even on horseback. For those looking for self-catering accommodation in Aviemore, there are plenty of places to choose from - accommodating small and large groups in either luxury
Aviemore self-catering or simpler cottages near the ski slopes. The romantic landscape of the Cairngorms perfectly complements the romance offered by the Swiss style chalets where, after a day's activity, you can relax in a hot-tub and watch the world go by. Modern chalets built with views of the ancient Abernethy Forests keep you close to nature whilst at the same time offering all your creature comforts, including, should you want it, wireless internet access. A few miles' drive from town you'll find Edwardian houses and cosy cottages nestling beneath the pine trees, close to local shops and amenities and with enough room to accommodate friends and family.
Aviemore attractions are plentiful - feed the reindeer at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, sample the local brew at the Cairngorm Brewery, visit the Aviemore Highland resort, the Glenmore Forest or the Highland Folk Museum, take a ride on the Mountain Railway or spend the day fishing. After a full day exploring the great outdoors, relax and put your feet up in the comfort of your self-catering chalet, lodge, house or cottage. Alternatively, head into town and sample Aviemore's excellent nightlife!
