Glenelg self-catering cottage

Torgorm is a spacious self catering holiday retreat. Idyllically situated on the west highland coast of Scotland, high on a hill overlooking the Isle of Skye, and the village of Glenelg and down the Sound of Sleat. This luxury holiday cottage is ideal for families or friends wanting to explore and enjoy the outdoors: walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, climbing the high mountains or simply enjoying the many beaches and coves around the coast. From the house you can enjoy an undisturbed view down the Sound of Sleat and you can watch boats all day. It has one of the best views in the village and you can enjoy them through the panoramic windows - the sunsets are amazing!

Glenelg is just 20 miles south of the Kyle of Lochalsh, opposite the southern end of Skye and facing the sea towards the western islands of Eigg, Rhum and Muck - this is a truly inspirational and romantic spot with dramatic scenery and the ever-changing sea. Sandaig Bay, just round the corner, is well known for being the home of Gavin Maxwell who wrote 'Ring of Bright Water' from his cottage on the shore: there are many wild otters in hidden coves around Glenelg's coastline. Frequently seen from the house are pine martins, otters, minke and humpback whales, and porpoises.

This Scottish retreat is in a fantastic situation for a holiday, with undisturbed views of the sea and the Isle of Skye, and close to a wonderful small village with an excellent pub/restaurant within walking distance. The scenery is truly outstanding. The house is very comfortably and tastefully furnished, and is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day in the highlands.

You can sit by the log burner and look out to sea for miles and miles.
