If you are planning a self catering golf holiday in Scotland you will be well situated as there is an abundance of truly superb golf courses within a short drive of Crieff. Gleneagles is only a 9 mile drive away, and Crieff has its own 9 and 18 hole challenging course only a mile from this holiday cottage. There are over thirty golf courses in Perthshire, so for the enthusiastic amateur or the more expert golfer, golf is at your finger tips! Auchterarder, Aberfeldy, Dunkeld, Perth, Comrie, Crieff, Muthill, St Fillans, Stirling and Callendar are easy to get to by road and are less than 30 minutes drive.

Rose Cottage is also ideal for those wising to have a Scottish fishing holiday. Fishing is on offer on the doorstep; the River Earn is just across the field. Fishing is also available on various lochs and rivers close by. So whether it is salmon, trout or grayling that you are after, Crieff is well situated in the centre of Perthshire - a fisherman's mecca. For the beginners and children of all ages, there is Drummond Trout Farm and Fishery - guaranteed to catch something!

For those who wish to pursue outdoor activities there is a great day's walk up Ben Chonzie (931m), the local Munroe. The ascent is an easy walk beside the beautiful Loch Turret followed by a short, steep scramble to the summit of Ben Chonzie. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery down the other side to Comrie, stopping off for some refreshments in the Royal Hotel, and hopping on the bus back to Crieff. Lady Mary's Walk is a glorious walk around the River Earn. There are also a wide choice of family activities, Comrie Croft mountain bike tracks, a local whisky trail (Scotlands oldest Whicky distillery Glenturret is 2 miles away), beautiful gardens - Drummond Castle gardens and something for historical enthusiasts too. Rose cottage is set in fabulous countryside and offers very comfortable and spacious accommodation. The owners live close by and the property is very well maintained.

On the ground floor is a spacious hallway with hooks for coats, a large L shaped kitchen dining, sitting room, with everything you will need for a fabulous self-catering holiday. 2 comfy sofas, and an armchair, coffee table and a large smart TV and a wood burning stove to relax by. Double doors with step down to a garden room, with more seating (cane sofa and 2 large can chairs), a coffee table and huge windows. There is full wall opening glass doors to the well stocked garden, and is a great place to relax in outdoors while being shielded from the elements.

Dining table to seat 4 (although 6 chairs available) and in the well equipped kitchen you will find a Nespresso coffee machine, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer and lots of crockery and cooking utensils.

Outside on the large patio with table and chairs for 4 perfect for a barbeque and outdoor dining. There is a wooden bench on the south side of the garden, a clothes line, and fabulous far reaching views. A large covered garage area has table tennis table, pool table and plenty of room for bikes.

The garden is well stocked and has far reaching views.

Also on the ground floor is a large walk-in shower room with tiled bench, sink and WC.

Upstairs two large bedrooms - one with a king size bed, fitted wardrobe and ensuite WC and basin. The other large bedroom has twin beds - that can be pushed together to form a super-king, there is also fitted wardrobe and ensuite WC and basin.

Park outside the property and the garage can be used for classic car tourers (who don't mind a farm track).

Directions to Rose Cottage, Crieff:

Rose cottage is within walking distance of Crieff - with shops, wine bars, pubs. Full directions provided on booking.

Once in Scotland, the main route north is the A/M74. South of Glasgow take the M73 which cuts north across to the A/M80 from Glasgow to Stirling and Perth. That joins the M9/A9 which you remain on until 3 miles north of Dunblane. There, take the A822 signposted to Crieff.
From Glasgow take the A/M80 as above.

From Edinburgh take either the M90 to Perth (via the Forth Road Bridge) and then the A85 from Perth to Crieff (signposted Crianlarich) OR the M9 to Stirling and Dunblane. Once in Crieff, follow our welcome directions.
