Eagle lodge is on the lower slopes of Glen Dochart just outside the village of Crianlarich. The area is well known for outdoor pursuits with stunning loch and mountain views. The estate keeps a selection of kayaks, rowing boats are available for wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river as well as paddle board hire..
40 minutes drive from Portnellan, Glencoe was the scene of one of the most infamous massacres in Scottish history. The Massacre of Glencoe took place on 13 February 1692. An estimated 30 members and associates of Clan MacDonald of Glencoe were killed by Scottish government forces, allegedly for failing to pledge allegiance to the new monarchs, William III and Mary II.

Eagle Lodge is a traditional log cabin - Scottish lodge, and has everything you need for a self-catering vacation for 4 guests:
The wooden lodge is entered via the balcony straight into an open plan bright and airy living, dining and kitchen area. Fitted with modern appliances including a washing machine with separate tumble dryer, dishwasher, fan assisted oven with ceramic hob the kitchen also comes stocked with crockery, pots and pans, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils. An island separates the kitchen from the dining area and there is also a separate seating area.
Walk through the chalet and leading off the living area you have two bedrooms. One with king size double bed and a further twin bedroom. All are supplied with soft Egyptian Cotton bed linen and high grade cotton towels. A holiday would not be a holiday without a comfortable night's sleep and we pride ourselves on the comfort of our beds and linen. The bedrooms have a fitted wardrobe with drawers, fitted carpets, hand made black out Roman blinds, a hair dryer, bedside tables with lighting. There is a family bathroom with power shower over bath. The accommodation has free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and the use of a games room on the estate with table tennis, pool table, table football and a small gym.
Directions to Portnellan Estate:
By Car: From Glasgow: Follow signs for A82. Continue over the Erskine Bridge towards Loch Lomond and follow signs to Crianlarich. Turn right at Tarbet. Continue to Crianlarich. Turn right at the roundabout towards the village of Crianlarich. At the hotel junction turn right onto the A85 towards Stirling. 3kms outside of the village you will find Portnellan on the right hand side.
From Edinburgh: Follow signs for M9 Stirling Exit at junction 10 for Crianlarich. Continue on A84/A85 towards Crianlarich. Portnellan is situated 1.5 miles before the village on the left hand side.
By Rail: Trains run along the West Highland line from Glasgow to Crianlarich each day. The Caledonian Sleeper (known to many as the Hogwarts Express!) operates overnight every day except Saturday night from London Euston direct to Crianlarich.
