The cottage is set at the southern end of Glenisla which is on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park. It is a quiet rural location but is only one and a half hours drive from Edinburgh Airport.

You have many cycling and walking routes directly on your doorstep. The Cateran Trail runs adjacent to the cottage and the longer routes from Glen Clover and Glen Doll up to Braemar are also nearby. There are also many circular walking and cycling routes from the cottage.

There are seven golf courses within a half hour drive from the cottage, and also the championship courses at Carnoustie and Gleneagles within a day trip.

There are also distilleries and castles to explore amongst the tourist attractions of this area, with Glamis, Scone, Pitlochry and Bruar being less than an hour's drive away. The hills and lochs to the north offer many interesting and challenging walks, and the coast to the east has many beautiful beaches and cliff walks.

There is good local information provided in the cottage covering the local shops and restaurants. The owners will give you information on circular walks and cycling routes at different levels of ability which could be for just half an hour stroll to the Reekie Lynn waterfall or a whole day's cycling. Let them know your interests and they will send you the information.

There are beautiful solid wood floors throughout making this practical accommodation set in the breathtaking rural Scottish countryside. There are two generous double bedrooms all on one level, one with access to the garden from the French doors. The views are lovely and you can spend hours just watching the changing light on the hills.

The comfortable sitting room is delightful in the evening summer sun but it also has a very efficient wood-burning stove that heats the house on winter evenings so you will by warm here throughout the year (additionally there is oil-fired central heating throughout and quoted prices are inclusive of all fuel). It is a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day. The kitchen is very well equipped and the separate laundry room is a boon if you need to dry clothes after a day in the hills or on the golf course.
