Cawdor village, nestled between the scenic Highlands and the spectacular Moray Coast makes an ideal place for either a relaxing, peaceful break or an active, outdoor holiday all year round. With its good travel links and mild climate Nairnshire has attracted visitors from home and abroad, families to film stars, both in the past and present. The area has a huge diversity of beautiful scenery from mountains, moorland, rolling farmland to woodlands and a stunning coastline with rocky coves and long sandy beaches.

Whether you want to just enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful village and surroundings or explore further afield, Hillview House is ideal. From the house you can walk to Cawdor Castle and through captivating woodlands full of rare species of trees and wildlife, or walk by the River Nairn - if you're lucky you might spot some deer or red squirrels. The beautiful Moray Coast is just 5 miles away: the Moray Firth is famous for being home to one of only three populations of bottlenose dolphins in the UK. Seals are often seen and the coastline is blessed with lovely coves, beautiful sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages and towns. Cawdor is the ideal base for a huge array of activities - golfing, cycling, bird-watching, watersports, hill-walking, coastal walks, fishing - all are practically on the doorstep.
Some of the owners favourite beaches close by: East Beach & Central Beach (no dogs allowed on the beach in Summer) in Nairn, Hilton of Delnies beach (off the beaten track and great for dog walking), Rosemarkie (huge long beach between Forres and Burghead), Cove Bay near Hopeman, Cummingston beach (great for rock-pooling).
For those interested in history there are lots of sites to visit - Culloden, Clava Cairns, many fascinating castles - and the Speyside Whisky Trail highlights the some of the many distilleries in the area. Should you want to venture further then the fascinating Black Isle is only 30 minutes away and the dramatic West Coast is only an hour and a half drive away. If you visit in spring or autumn you may be lucky enough to see a display of one of nature's wondrous sights, the Northern Lights.

Accommodation:
Hillview House is a large detached house in a beautiful village setting, surrounded by a mature garden with a large lawn, established borders and hedging making it completely private and perfect for children and pets. The house is a spacious and extremely comfortable large holiday house in a truly stunning area.
Downstairs the entrance hall leads into the cosy sitting room with lovely marble fireplace and open fire. The sitting room is a lovely light room with three large bay windows leading into the dining room with solid oak dining table and leather covered dining chairs. There is an archway through to the large well equipped kitchen with a pantry and cloakroom attached plus a backdoor through to the sun porch. A doorway from the kitchen leads to the downstairs hallway with bedrooms, bathroom and playroom off. Also on the ground floor there are 3 large bedrooms, a double room with ensuite, and 2 twin rooms. There is also a large family bathroom.
Upstairs there are 3 more large bedrooms; 1 with a view to Cawdor Castle with en-suite and dressing room, a further large double room and a bedroom with twin beds. There is also a second bathroom. The house is tastefully furnished throughout with fitted carpets everywhere except kitchen and bathrooms.
Outside there is a good sized driveway for easy parking.

What's included:
Central heating, logs, coal and peat are all included. Bed linen and towels are provided and well behaved dogs are welcome.

This fabulous self-catering house for 12 is situated in the delightful village of Cawdor, which has a shop and an award-winning pub with excellent food. A Nairnshire holiday house such as this is an ideal location to explore all that this area has to offer - historic sites and castles, distilleries, dolphin watching to name but a few! Findhorn a lovely old fishing village is well worth a visit, just 20 minutes from Cawdor.
