Loch Goil is a fabulous place for a holiday - just an hour from Glasgow so it’s very accessible from the Scottish central belt and the south - and the scenery is absolutely stunning. The Argyll Forest Park and the Cormonachan Woodlands surround Loch Goil and they’re full of deer and red squirrels. Sea otters and seals are often spotted in the loch, and the bird life is superb. Argyll and the western highlands are easily explored if you are staying in a holiday house at Loch Goil. Lochgoilhead is at the head of the loch and it has a good pub and restaurant as well as a small shop - handy if you are on a self-catering holiday in the area.

There are so many places to visit and explore in the area - Inveraray is a popular tourist destination and the beautiful castle is well worth a visit. One of the finest Argyll gardens is Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens and definitely visit that if you are at all interested in gardens - it’s lovely throughout the year. Outdoor activities are very popular in Argyll - there is fantastic walking for all abilities, and you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of lochs and mountains.
