Keeprs House is set in an idyllic riverside location by Rosehall in tranquil Glencassley. The area is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, hillwalkers, golfers and the also the sporting fisherman. This is a great base for exploring the Highlands.

In the heart of Sutherland it is possible to explore both the east and west coasts. Head east to discover several small towns with beautiful beaches, plenty of restaurants and some excellent golf courses. In contrast, the dramatic mountain scenery of the west coast will delight hill walkers as well as artists and photographers.

The house is surrounded by stunning scenery and there are a variety of interesting walks nearby to suit all abilities and fitness levels. Don't miss some of Scotland's wonderful wildlife. Sightings are regularly made of red and sika deer, ospreys, buzzards, golden eagles and peregrine falcons.

The local area is renowned for its salmon fishing with rivers Cassley and Oykel very close by and the Shin and Carron just a short drive away. Keepers House is at the Cassley riverside and the Glenrossal Estate has its own 2 1/2 mile beat of double bank salmon fishing. Fishing, when available, can be arranged on a weekly basis by contacting the estate. There are also several lochs in the area which provide excellent wild brown trout fishing.

Golfers will be spoilt for choice with a great variety of courses within easy driving distance. The championship course Royal Dornoch, regarded as one of the best links courses in the world, is only 25 miles away. The nearest course to Keepers House is Bonar Bridge which is a charming and challenging inland 9 hole course. Golspie, Tain and Brora offer 18 hole courses in traditional Scottish links style. A little further afield are two more excellent links courses Castle Stuart near Inverness which has hosted the Scottish Open and Nairn Golf Club which has been home to the Walker Cup.

Scotland has a world class larder with delicious fresh seafood, wild game and traditionally raised beef and lamb. The Achness Hotel which is less than one mile away, a short walk, is very convenient for those who would like to dine out without having to drive too far.

Downstairs, the farmhouse kitchen has both a wood burning Raeburn and an electric cooker and there is plenty of space for the wooden table and chairs for 6. The utility room is home to the dishwasher, washing machine and condenser dryer along with a microwave oven, fridge and chest freezer. The sitting room has an open fire plenty of logs, coal and kindlers provided comfy sofas and a TV and DVD player. Also downstairs is a bedroom which can be set either as a double or a twin and a shower room with WC.

Upstairs are two further bedrooms - one double, one twin - both decorated with traditional tartan curtains and matching rugs. The family bathroom has a luxurious bath and shower.

Outside the garden has garden furniture and a gas barbeque, perfect for those lazy summer evenings and ideal for barbequing some freshly caught fish!
