Luxurious rural romantic retreat in Durness, with breath taking views, roaring flames in the wood burner, and large deep bathtubs, super big beds too! The house is in an idyllic location surrounded by glorious beaches along the stunning coastline of towering cliffs rising up from the sea. The area is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, hillwalkers, mountain climbers, golfers and the also sporting fisherman with World class loch and river fishing. Durness is a great base for exploring the far north Highlands.

The house is surrounded by stunning scenery and there are a variety of interesting walks nearby to suit all abilities and fitness levels. Don't miss some of Scotland's wonderful wildlife. Sightings are regularly made of otters, Ospreys, Golden Eagles and Orcas.

The local area is renowned for its World class salmon fishing with rivers and several lochs in the area which provide excellent wild brown trout fishing.

Golfers can play the most Westerly course on the mainland UK. Durness is nine hole links course, spectacularly scenic, (a very challenging final hole over an inlet of the sea) and remote cliff tops in Cape Wrath

Durness is a popular spot to stay on the NC500 in the North West Highlands, Durness village runs along the cliff-tops overlooking fantastic white sandy beaches with excellent waves for windsurfing.

Accommodation:

Deluxe, high quality self-catering holiday accommodation, with spoiling features - quite fascinating to stay in the most northerly village on mainland Great Britain. The ultimate luxury coastal getaway, ideally suited for couples looking for a romantic escape, friends and family can also stay.

This unique house has high quality fixtures and fittings - an eclectic mix of bespoke and vintage furniture with emphasis on design details and uninterrupted views from the huge picture window, a cozy wood burning stove, sumptuous leather furniture, open plan living and a very well equipped kitchen. There is a range cooker, a dishwasher and a super-sized fridge freezer. The dining area has seating for six guests around a walnut table, but is equally suitable for accommodating a romantic meal for two.

There is a well equipped boot room with oversized washer and dryer with place to hang wet, muddy clothes after adventures on the beach or the mountains. This house has everything you could want from holiday accommodation.

There are two bathrooms one upstairs and one downstairs, with oversized shower or bath. Indulgent bath linens are supplied for you to enjoy very large beds and baths are the ultimate relaxation and feel decadent and spoiling! The master bedroom upstairs is a quiet intimate sanctuary. There's also a twin bedroom perfect for children.

Outside there is a private garden, with garden furniture and barbeque.

Whilst staying here guests can also experience private yoga sessions, massage and of course The Northern Lights.

Directions:

The nearest airport is Inverness, which offers daily flights from the south. From Inverness take the A9 north to the Tore roundabout.

You may now choose the east coast or the west coast route to continue your journey, both are through stunning scenery but the east coast route is about 30 minutes shorter.

What's included:

Heating is included and also the first bucket of fuel for the stove.

Up to two dogs are welcome, there are restrictions and an extra cleaning charge applies.

For reservations during winter months a 4x4 vehicle is a advisable.

The finest bed linen and towels are provided.

There are no hidden costs. If you have any special requirements the owners will do their best to provide whatever is requested.

The cottage is rented out throughout the year.

Weekly Rental (7 nights) run from Friday 4pm to Friday 9.30am

Weekend Rental (3 nights) November to March run from Friday 4pm until Monday 9.30am subject to availability.

Mid week Rental (4 nights) November to March from Monday 4pm to Friday 9.30am subject to availability.
