The Manse, is a well equipped for self-catering holidays offering a very warm welcome to a range of guest groups, families, friends or couples with plenty of room to spread out both inside and out. There are stunning views from this incredible location, peaceful but with a local pub and village shop within easy reach. For the wildlife enthusiasts, dolphin, porpoise, the White-Tailed Eagle, Otter, and Pine Marten are all native to the area.

Applecross is close to the very well known North Coast 500 scenic car touring route, with dramatic coastline views, sandy beaches, big mountains and amazing fishing villages covering 500-miles along the northern coast of Scotland, the route starts in Inverness, and heads west to Achnasheen and Strathcarron before reaching Applecross.

Before the construction of the coastal road from Shieldaig in 1976, Applecross was one of the most remote parishes on mainland Britain. The only access was via the breathtaking yet daunting mountain pass roads, Bealach na Ba. Ascending to 2,053 feet, this is the highest road in Scotland, offering stunning panoramic views across the Minch towards Raasay and the Isle of Skye. The other route meanders along the coast, circling Loch Torridon from Shieldaig.

As you arrive in Applecross, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you, leading to the stunning location of The Manse, a charming holiday home nestled right by the sea on the tranquil peninsula. Beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for self-catered stays.

As you drive up to the front of the house, there is ample parking for two cars, in the front garden you can take in the spectacular sea views while relaxing on the outdoor furniture.

Spanning two floors, this spacious house offers an abundance of natural light and sweeping vistas.

On the ground floor, the modern, well-equipped kitchen features an electric hob, oven and grill, microwave, two large fridges, dishwasher, and all the essentials for preparing delicious meals. A separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer adds extra convenience. For storage, a large chest freezer is located in the adjacent outbuilding.

For dining, choose between the kitchen table or the adjacent dining room, which comfortably seats six and overlooks the garden. The cozy living room, with three leather sofas and a crackling log fire, invites relaxation on cooler evenings. A separate study next door has comfortable seating, a large desk, books, flat-screen smart TV, and superfast Wi-Fi for those needing a peaceful workspace.

The spacious hallway is filled with light and leads to a convenient ground-floor WC, as well as a peaceful bedroom featuring a wrought iron double bed and a large window overlooking the garden.

Upstairs, you'll find a further three bright and airy double bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts an ensuite with a luxurious roll-top bath positioned right by the window, with fantastic views of the sea. It also includes a separate shower, heated towel rail, and WC. Another double bedroom has its own ensuite shower room, with a heated towel rail and WC. The third bedroom is another comfortable double.

Along the spacious landing, a modern shower room features a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, wash hand basin, and WC. Throughout the house, central heating ensures warmth and comfort, while the real log fire offers the perfect touch for cozy winter nights.

On sunny days, the well-positioned garden seating invites you to relax, soak in the panoramic views, and enjoy the soothing sounds of birdsong in the garden.

Directions:

To reach The Manse from the East Coast, Applecross is around two and a half hours from Inverness, where there is an airport with car hire and a train station. Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow Airports are around five hours away. From the West Coast, Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye are around one and a half hours away.

The Bealach na Ba (pass of the cattle) into Applecross is one of the highest mountain passes in Britain, which is part of the North Coast 500 (NC500) Route. For inexperienced drivers or those afraid of heights, the scenic coast road from the North brings you into Applecross from Shieldaig and Torridon. This route is about fifteen minutes longer than the Bealach na Ba.

Please note that all roads in and out of Applecross are single track, so anticipate for journeys to take a little bit longer. Mobile coverage is patchy once you reach Applecross.
