Cellardyke is one of a number of small fishing villages in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife, an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful part of Scotland. This is a fantastic location for a Scottish holiday, with award winning sandy beaches, world class golf courses, full range of water sports, beautiful coastal walks and many other holiday activities close by. There are numerous pubs and eating places in the area (and lots within a short walk), ranging from the famous 'Anstruther chippie' to award winning seafood restaurants. The fishing village of Pittenweem (one mile from Anstruther) is the venue for the well acclaimed Arts Festival every August. The historic town of St Andrews is only 15 minutes away.
This part of Fife is also ideal for exploring further afield. It is only an hour's drive to Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The area is rich in historical interest with several National Trust for Scotland properties in the vicinity including Falkland Palace, Culross, Kellie Castle and the Hill of Tarvit. Gorgeous sandy beaches are close by as well of course as the best choice of golf courses Scotland has to offer!
Other recreational activities in the area include tennis, sailing, fishing, canoeing, abseiling and go-karting. On the other hand, you may well just want to relax and enjoy the ever changing sea views and the fresh coastal air.
