Tigh-nam-muc is a stone built cottage which forms part of an 18th century farm steading. It represents 'the best of both worlds'; set in the countryside yet within very easy access of Edinburgh by bus or by car.

The traditional exterior of the cottage is complimented by a comfortable, spacious and bright contemporary interior converted by architect Michael Gray.

The cottage has four bedrooms (one en suite) sleeping up to 6 adults and 2 children in bunk beds plus a cot if required. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living space provides bright, comfortable accommodation with an open log fire and a log burning stove. Unusually there is a TV studio on an upper level from which there are tremendous long views to the Pentlands and the Lammermuir Hills. There are 2 bathrooms (1 en suite) both have baths and the main bathroom has a power shower and a small laundry room.

The private garden which includes BBQ and garden furniture provides a safe environment for young children. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Tigh-nam-muc is located on the south side of Edinburgh.

On approach from the Edinburgh bypass leave at the Lothianburn Junction and take the A703 in the direction of Penicuik, follow the road past the entrance to Hillend Ski slope and the Country Park, take the middle road at the triple fork and head for Penicuik on the A703.
