The Head Gardener's Cottage is a beautiful cottage which is set within 150 acres of unspoilt landscape on the Broxmouth Park Estate in Dunbar, East Lothian. Dunbar is a lovely town situated on the East Lothian coast. It boasts some wonderful beaches on its doorstep; Belhaven Bay and White Sands and many more in the near vicinity including Yellowcraig, Tyninghame, North Berwick and Pease Bay. All within a 20 minute drive, so whether you feel like surfing or just relaxing there are plenty of options. East Lothian is also a golfer's paradise offering 22 courses for all levels of golfers with many Championship courses. Muirfield which is world renowned and host to the British Open is only 20 minutes' drive. The estate also backs onto the Dunbar Golf Club which is an Open qualifying venue and is viewed as one of the best links courses in Scotland.
Dunbar is a great place for families to visit and offers a wealth of activities. There is the East Links Family Fun Park which has animals for the children to feed, train rides and an amazing fort for them to play on. Dunbar has its own indoor swimming pool with an incredible wave machine - children just love it! Boat trips can also be arranged from Dunbar harbour. It is only a few minutes' drive to the Museum of Flight where you are able to take a tour on a Concorde as well as seeing many historic and modern aircrafts. The Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick is also well worth a visit.
If it is culture that you are looking for, Dunbar is only 30 minutes by car (20 minutes by train) from Edinburgh which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In July and August Edinburgh is completely buzzing as it hosts the International Festival, Festival Fringe and Military Tattoo.

Broxmouth Park is steeped in history and natural beauty. The park is a wonderful place for walks and a haven for bird and animal lovers. It is not unusual to see a deer wandering past the front door. There is a complimentary shuttle service to The Rocks, bistro-pub, and The Creel Restaurant also has wonderful award-wining food.

The Head Gardener's Cottage has been recently refurbished and successfully combines the charms of a cottage with loads of style. The property can easily accommodate 8 people and it is a lovely venue for a celebration or for family get-togethers. The house has been decorated using largely Mulberry fabrics and furnishings which creates a sumptuous and cosy feeling. It is one of the most quaint and beautiful cottages in East Lothian and has plenty of parking, large grounds and is situated next to a walled garden. It also boosts a wonderful hot tub which is kept at around 40C which is great fun all year round.
This beautiful cottage sleeps up to 8 people in four interior designed bedrooms. There are 2 bathrooms, one shower room and one WC. One bathroom is decorated with Bisazza Mosaics and has a large spa bath. Another has a huge slipper bath with pebbles on the floor which is really lovely to walk on. The house is very private with a private entrance surrounded by mature trees. Within this secluded area is outdoor furniture, a BBQ and a hot tub which is really lovely to relax in.
On entering the cottage there is a beautiful handmade wooden kitchen which has under floor heating, a range cooker and some seating. The dining room has luxurious silk drapes and comfortably seats 8 people. The sitting room is spacious with comfortable sofas, ideal for relaxing. There is a downstairs bedroom with bunk beds and a downstairs WC with a stone basin. Upstairs are two double rooms each dressed with cushions and throws, a twin room which has room for an additional Z bed and the two bathrooms and shower room.
Location:
Broxmouth Park is on the A1087, 1 1/4 miles to the east of Dunbar. Exit the A1 where you see the brown sign East Lothian Tourist Trail, continue 200 metres turning right into the driveway between large curved walls and pillars.

All towels and bed linen are provided together with tea towels.
The kitchen comes equipped with all the necessities eg washing-up liquid etc.
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
Cost and availability
The changeover day is flexible. Check-out time is 10am and check-in is after 4pm.
