Lofty Links is a spacious, well equipped Victorian flat that sits in the heart of North Berwick, one of Scotland’s most popular seaside towns. A destination for holiday makers since the nineteenth century, North Berwick has everything – miles of sandy beaches, a huge variety of locally owned boutique shops, award winning restaurants, pubs to suit every taste, live music, events, and a stunning park. Set in beautiful East Lothian, in the middle of Scotland’s Golf Coast, Lofty Links is surrounded by world famous golf courses. North Berwick and The Glen courses are in North Berwick itself, with Muirfield (home to the British Open) and Gullane (the Scottish Open) just four miles away. It would be easy to play on a different course every day and not be disappointed.

The apartment is in a renovated Victorian building above The Ship Inn which is a popular local pub with occasional live music (11 pm finish). The Scottish Seabird Centre and café is a stone’s throw from Lofty Links, with a visitor centre and boat trips to the Isle of May and the Bass Rock. Within the harbour local seafood can be sampled at the Lobstershack and next door to the accommodation award winning ice creams can be bought from Allandas. The Lodge Gardens is a stunning park, just across the road from the apartment, with green space, an aviary, a children’s play park and summer café. North Berwick Pipe Band play at the park every Wednesday evening, often accompanied by the town’s Highland Dancers.

A few short miles along the coast visitors can go horse riding along the beautiful beach at Seacliff, visit the North Berwick Gin distillery, and the National Museum of Flight (home to retired Concorde). A short drive will take guests to study the form at Musselburgh horse racing course. There really is something for every member of the family.

North Berwick has a well serviced rail link with regular trains to the centre of Edinburgh half an hour away. So if you fancy a mix of city break and coastal retreat, this is the place for you.

Accommodation:

Lofty Links is a four bedroom apartment set out on one floor in a renovated Victorian building in central North Berwick. Throughout the apartment the decor is bright and modern with touches of traditional. The black and white kitchen furniture is juxtaposed with Scottish landscape pictures. Just inside the entrance there is space to hang coats and leave your shoes.

The well equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer, gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee machine along with plenty of other essential items. The kitchen also has a table with seating for 8. In the sitting room the focal point is the Victorian style open fireplace around which there is comfortable seating. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs and board games. Out of the window you can see Memorial Gardens.

Off the central corridor of the apartment there are four twin bedrooms one of which has zip and link beds so it can become a superking. All the bedrooms have colourful décor, crisp white bedding, bedside tables and lamps and stylish cushions and curtains to add the finishing touch.

There is a bathroom with shower over the bath, a basin and a loo and also a separate loo.

Carpeted throughout the accommodation has full gas central heating and unlimited BT wi-fi.

At the back of the property there is a private roof terrace with seating.

Heading north or south on the A1, take the A198 and follow signs to North Berwick. Lofty Links is above Ship Inn in Quality Street.
