Moray, Scotland's malt whisky country, is arguably one of the loveliest places in the north-east of Scotland. Situated between the Cairngorms to the south and the Moray Firth coast to the north, Moray Cottages is a superb central base for guests to enjoy a range of diverse activities catering for all the family. There are glorious walks over hills, by clean rivers and along miles of empty sandy beaches. There is also a range of winter and summer activities at the nearby Lecht and Avimore ski centres.

Wildlife abounds throughout the region, from ospreys and puffins to the dolphins and whales in the Moray Firth. For anglers, there are a multitude of salmon rivers, including the world famous River Spey. There are lochs with wild brown trout and good sea fishing during the summer. The area is a golfer's paradise with dozens of courses on which to test your skill. This part of Scotland also has an abundance of historical sites and castles, many of which are free to visit. Speyside is renowned for the production of whisky and Dufftown is Scotland's malt whisky capital. Whether you want to learn about every aspect of whisky making, or just want a free tour of a distillery, this is a visit not to be missed!
