This beautifully restored cottage sits in the woodland of a private estate, beside a walled garden and close to the river. Fishing, tennis and numerous walks are available on the estate. Auld Bothy Cottage is halfway between Moffat and Dumfries, with excellent connections to the rest of Scotland and the north of England. Close by, the former spa town of Moffat enjoys a wide range of shops, pubs and award winning restaurants. Perfect for getting away from it all, the surrounding area has activities for everyone, from mountain biking and hill walking on the estate and in the Ae Forest (part of the 7 Stanes), to fishing and stalking and enjoying a round of golf on numerous local courses. History lovers will be at home in Burns and Reivers country, close to many sites of historical interest including Caerlaverock and Drumlanrig castles.

Dalgarnock Cottage is one of six self catering cottages which have been converted from the original farm buildings of Templand, half a mile from the attractive village of Thornhill. Set around a landscaped courtyard and with beautiful views across the Nithsdale Valley the cottages are an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The area is perfect for walking, cycling, golfing and fishing and there are many sites of historic interest including the famous Drumlanrig Castle. Alternatively, you can stay at Templand and enjoy the wonderful facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, games room, play area and trampoline.
