Riverview Cottage, Pitlochry Perthshire

Situated in the delightful Perthshire village of Kirkmichael, Riverview Cottage offers peaceful and relaxing accommodation for up to 4 adults in a traditional Scottish home with many original features and added extras. There are 2 open fires (backed up by oil fired central heating), fishing at the bottom of the large country garden in the River Ardle (tackle and a fly fishing lesson on hand by arrangement with the owner) and 2 adult bicycles available by arrangement. Many of our guests like to sit in the summerhouse or relax at the picnic table watching the river or spotting the red squirrels feeding. The surrounding area boasts many opportunities for walking, fishing, cycling, golf and enjoying the rich natural environment. Due to the river at the bottom of the garden we are sorry but we are unable to take young children. We have many walking and cycling paths including the Cateran trail around Kirkmichael. Why not take a walk through Black Spout Wood, in Pitlochry - an oak wood alive with red squirrels and roe deer - along the way you'll pass a cascading waterfall, a ruined castle and call into Scotland's smallest distillery at Edradour for a wee 'dram' (just 15 minutes drive from the cottage - make sure and try some of the whisky flavoured fudge!).

Kirkmichael is in the heart of golfing country with world famous Gleneagles approx 1 hour's drive away, St Andrews 2 hours, and Rosemount close by. There are also many hidden gems such as Pitlochry, Kirriemuir, Dunkeld and Alyth golf courses all within a short drive.

You might like to eat out in the local village hotel or get your groceries in the traditional award-winning village shop - which is also our post office and cafe. Soothe away those aching muscles in the big traditional roll top bath back at this lovely Perthshire self-catering cottage at the end of the day!
