This secluded west coast holiday cottage is a perfect highland hideaway - there are no other houses in sight, just the beautiful countryside and sea. Yet it is only 6 miles from Oban, so easily accessible. Its situation is amazing - at the entrance to Loch Feochan, with stunning views down the Firth of Lorn. This former croft has been beautifully modernised inside and has an open fire. Set in 50 acres of hill land, you can walk from the cottage into the hills and not see another person all day.

Tigh Beg Croft is a very special place for a Scottish holiday - you might recognise it if you've seen the films 'Ring of Bright Water' or 'Enigma'! The Oban area has lots to see and do although many of the visitors are just looking for total peace and quiet to recharge their batteries. Up the glen is an excellent country inn with good food and informal music nights. Oban of course has lots of restaurants, shops and cafes, and is the gateway to the Isles. If you want a more active holiday then there is plenty to do in the area for all the family: golf, sailing, boat trips, walking, climbing, canoeing, diving and fishing; as well as glorious castles and gardens to visit.

This is a wonderful hideaway cottage offering complete seclusion, yet easy to reach. You can get to this idyllic cottage by sea (perfect if you are on a sailing holiday!) and by land - the car parking is within metres of the cottage and then there is a descending footpath.

Accommodation:
This isolated cottage is modern and comfortable inside with a large open plan sitting room with wooden flooring and an open fire. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you will need, including that holiday essential of a dishwasher! On the ground floor is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, together with a bathroom with shower over bath. There is an upper loft bedroom twin or zip & link king double but the stairs are very steep and not suitable for elderly & young children!

Outside there is a barbeque and garden furniture so you can dine al fresco whilst watching the ever-changing sea.

Directions:
From the south on the M6/M74 towards Stirling on the M73/A80. Take the M9 for Perth, exiting for Stirling at junction 10, taking A84 heading for Crianlarich, finally on to the A85 to Oban.

From Oban take the main A616 south - signposted for Lochgilphead and Campbeltown - for 2 miles, turn right on road signposted for Lerags and continue for 1.5 miles to Lagnakeil where you will find us in the hills overlooking Loch Feochan. Access to Tigh Beg is by a private track road of about one half miles with the final approach over unsurfaced track.

Linen and towels are provided. Electricity is metered and charged at cost.

Cost and availability:
The cottage is rented out year round.

Rental periods are generally a week, Saturday to Saturday, but short breaks are welcome. Checking in time is 3pm and checking out is 10am.
