A warm welcome awaits you at Loaninghead where this courtyard conversion is new to the market for spring 2007. Situated 3 miles from Drymen and set amongst mature trees and beautiful unspoilt countryside, the imposing 18th century red sandstone former hunting lodge and farm offer a perfect setting for a self catering holiday in Stirlingshire.
In the days of Rob Roy McGregor, the local outlaw, this was a hunting lodge on the estates of the Dukes of Montrose. The courtyard has however been recently converted by local tradesmen to a very high standard. The Stables has been tastefully furnished and offers the utmost comfort. The aim is for guests to have the best holiday possible and go home with a wish to return again and again.
The Stables is in an idyllic, peaceful location where there are spectacular views of unspoilt countryside. The area is Scotland's first National Park - Loch Lomond and Trossachs. While enjoying the rural setting, it is only a short drive to Drymen where you can stock up on provisions for your holiday, eat out at one of the restaurants or get active on one of the golf courses. It is also possible to hire bicycles or you may well prefer to take your boots and embark on some walking. If you want to cycle, fish, play golf, walk, read a book, sail, relax or simply breathe the air the Lomond area offers the unique opportunity to enjoy these activities, and many more, amongst the most inspiring natural scenery of The Campsie Hills and Endrick Valley.
Within easy striking distance are some wonderful castles including Stirling, Edinburgh and Inveraray. There are also Scottish palaces to explore at Scone, Linlithgow and Holyrood. If you are interested in architecture then visit the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Hill House and see the stunning architecture and design of one of Scotland's best kept secrets. Glengoyne whisky distillery is only 4 miles away and is a great venue for a tour, some tasting and some tax free shopping. If you are looking for the buzz of the city then Glasgow with its museums, galleries, exhibitions and shops is only a few miles away.
Aside from the magnificient hills the panorama from Loaninghead consists of a patchwork
of farms and small villages. This is a beautiful rural retreat for those wishing to enjoy all that nature can offer from the comfort of quality Scottish self catering accommodation.
