Deerstalker has spectacular mountain views and is situated within a privately owned estate which was winner of Visit Scotland Thistle Award for 'The Best Accommodation Provider' in Central, Tayside and Fife 2016/17.

The setting is magnificent with a true highland landscape all around and is often complimented for the abundance of bird and wild life that can be seen. You will regularly see blue tits, grey tits, chaffinches, goldcrests, kingfishers, bullfinchs, woodpeckers, wrens, jays, kestrels, buzzards and many more - if you are lucky you will see golden eagles too. The owners promote biodiversity throughout the estate and encourage bird and wildlife as well as making the cottage very eco friendly.

Located in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Deerstalker offers fantastic facilities free of charge - fresh run salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, and kayaks and rowing boats available on the river and loch. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged and there are bicycles to hire on the estate, with plenty of trails on and off road for all abilities.

Deerstalker is the perfect base for exploring central and west Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minutes, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over an hour and Edinburgh one and a half hours, drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.

Accommodation:

Deerstalker is a newly refurbished 5 star lodge and designed to be exceptionally spacious and comfortable with a level of luxury complimented by the detail in the fixtures and fittings. The moment you walk through the large glass sliding door leading from the private patio with garden furniture it is clear to see that the layout and design has been designed to bring a home from home feel and tastefully thought out to the highest of 5 star standards.

This includes the handmade curtains and blinds, the Farrow and Ball paint used throughout the property, Scottish artwork prints as wall decoration, the Scottish manufactured Carron deep sunk double ended bath and the Morso wood burning stove. No expense has been spared to make this property unique in its appearance to stand out from the rest.

The open plan living area with large comfy sofas, hand made designer foot stool, flat screen TV with SKY package, Blu Ray DVD and a wood burning stove gives the Deerstalker a warm, cosy and welcoming feel. The dining area with table and chairs flows to the beautiful newly installed fully fitted kitchen with all modern conveniences including integrated dishwasher, double oven, larder fridge freezer and ceramic hob. The kitchen is complimented by feature ceiling and worktop lighting. There is a washer/dryer located in a specifically designed small walk in drying cupboard. Nespresso coffee machines and a supply of selection of tea, coffee capsules, sugar, milk and award winning Taste of Scotland shortbread. More coffee capsules can be purchased at Portnellan.

Walk through into the bedroom from the living area and the sumptuous king sized 2000 spring Rest Assured bed and mattress with cashmere top is placed between built in his and her wardrobes, a feature wall with designer paper, hand made bed headboard and lighting. The large fully tiled ensuite bathroom has a double ended deep Carron bath with a separate power shower cubicle. There is even a bluetooth, heated vanity mirror above the bathroom basin.

Directions:

By Car: From Glasgow: Follow signs for A82. Continue over the Erskine Bridge towards Loch Lomond and follow signs to Crianlarich. Turn right at Tarbet. Continue to Crianlarich. Turn right at the roundabout towards the village of Crianlarich. At the hotel junction turn right onto the A85 towards Stirling. 3kms outside of the village you will find Portnellan on the right hand side.

From Edinburgh: Follow signs for M9 Stirling Exit at junction 10 for Crianlarich. Continue on A84/A85 towards Crianlarich. Portnellan is situated 1.5 miles before the village on the left hand side

By Rail: Trains run along the West Highland line from Glasgow to Crianlarich each day. The Caledonian Sleeper (known to many as the Hogwarts Express!) operates overnight every day except Saturday night from London Euston direct to Crianlarich.
