Our guests, ranging from elderly couples and young families to golfers and honeymooners, can enjoy a host of cultural and sporting activities in Perthshire, Angus or Fife - many within a short drive.
If it's history you are looking for Glamis Castle, Scone Palace and the Pictish Stones at Meigle are not to be missed. The area is also a golfer's paradise with countless courses nearby and a haven for anglers whether on the rivers Tay and Ericht or on local lochs. Glenshee attracts both skiers and hill walkers and if you are an ambitious hiker, take a crack at the 100km Cateran Trail that starts and finishes in Blairgowrie. For gentler pursuits, try some antique shopping at Rait village or the souvenir shops around Blairgowrie's Wellmeadow. And if you're not a shopper what better than a tour of Edradour Distillery followed by a relaxing bbq at Farview: the ideal location for a self-catering holiday.

One of the most outstanding features of Farview is the sense of being in the countryside and yet within walking distance of major amenities. After a day of outdoor sports or sightseeing - the Old Cross Inn is a 90-second walk and can be a godsend. On warm evenings, however, there is nowhere better to relax than in the mature gardens that face the Sidlaw Hills. The garden, separated from the private car park by a gate, is ideal for children to play. Adults can watch on from the recently landscaped patio.
Accommodation:
This 150-year old cottage on the outskirts of the picturesque market town of Blairgowrie combines comfort and character.
It is decorated to a high standard with quality furnishings and fabrics and has recently been rewired. The owners try to spend as many holidays at Farview as possible and perhaps for this reason, numerous guests have commented that the cottage is surprisingly well equipped and has a very cosy and homely feel, especially in winter.
Directions to Farview:
From Perth, follow the A93 to Blairgowrie.
At the Wellmeadow (the town green) turn left at the lights and proceed over the bridge and up the hill. Follow the road and go past a school on the left.
The road will then veer slightly to the right and a church, with a square tower, will become visible. Turn right into the road just before the church. You are now on Kirkton Road. The white cottage “Farview”, second on the right, is your property.
The cottage's private car park is on the right at the bottom of the garden.
From Alyth, take A926 to Blairgowrie. As you approach Blairgowrie look out for a church with a square tower on the left. Immediately afterwards, on the right, is the Old Cross Inn. A few yards further on, turn left into Kirkton Road. Farview is second on the right.
