North Haven Cottage, Kirtomy Sutherland |
|
North Haven Cottage is a former croft which nestles below the hillside, near the coast, in the north of Sutherland. It was
sympathetically renovated in 2003 to an extremely high standard and is a cosy and relaxing place to stay in whilst exploring this remote
part of Scotland. It offers total peace and quiet, with fabulous views over the cliff tops to the sea.
Sutherland offers empty, beautiful open landscapes and the most idyllic beaches - nearby Farr Bay and Bettyhill have dunes and smooth
white sand. The heather-clad hills offer wonderful walking and abundant bird and wildlife. Fishing is a great attraction in
Sutherland - near to the cottage, the River Naver has prolific salmon and Loch Duinte has trout and wild brown trout. Exploring
Sutherland's wild and dramatic landscape offers a variety of walking - from munros to cliff-top walks with the waves crashing below. This
is perhaps the most beautiful part of Scotland and if you want to totally escape from 21st century life then this idyllic self-catering
cottage is for you!
