Gracie's Cottage,Loch Kishorn Wester Ross, Highlands

Gracie's Cottage is a traditional cottage on the shores of Loch Kishorn - this is a sea loch so you are actually on the west coast. The views from the house are magnificent - towards the Applecross Hills and the famous 'Pass of the Cattle'. The house was completely renovated to a very high standard in 2003 and now offers excellent accommodation for 4 people. This is a stunning part of Scotland and you will be totally away from the stresses of modern life.

There are lots of outdoor activities - fabulous walking in the surrounding hills and along the sea coast; a huge variety of birds (this is paradise if you are on a bird watching holiday); pretty villages to explore (including Applecross, Lochcarron, Shieldaig, Plockton and Kishorn). Serious walkers will want to climb the numerouse Munros nearby and visit Torridon, with Liathach, Bein Eighe and Beinn Alligin about half an hour away. The wildlife is amazing: seals are often seen from the house and in the summer you may see dolphins and porpoises. There are also lovely gardens to visit - Attadale Gardens, opposite Lochcarron, and Inverewe Gardens are a must. There are some superb restaurants in the area - great if you don't want to cook on your self-catering holiday! You will also be able to buy fabulous seafood straight from the water in season - a great way to meet and talk to local people and get a feel of this friendly and peaceful part of the west coast of Scotland.

Accommodation:
On the ground floor is a large, sunny sitting room with a wood-burning stove and comfortable furniture. The kitchen is modern and has everything you might need in a self-catering cottage. Both rooms look directly onto the loch, so have amazing views. There is a separate utility room with a drying area. The large downstairs bathroom has a bath, electric shower, basin, wc and heated towel rail. Upstairs there is a pretty double bedroom and twin room - both with the loch view. There is also a bathroom with a wc, basin and heated towel rail.

Gracie's Cottage is on the shores of Loch Kishorn and you will be sent detailed directions by the owners, when your holiday cottage booking is confirmed.

All bed linen, central heating - morning and evening, and electricity.

Cost and availability.
The cottage is rented out year round - Friday to Friday bookings.
Rental periods are generally a week - although short breaks with a minimum 3 days rental are available. Checking in time is 4pm and checking out is 10am.
