Coalfin Skipness, By Tarbert, Argyll |
|
Coalfin is a newly-renovated farmhouse, set on a hill overlooking the village of Skipness on the Kintyre Peninsula. The Mull of Kintyre in Argyll is a beautiful region in the west of Scotland and is full of outdoor sporting activities, walking, fishing, climbing, biking both on and off road, birdwatching and golf. There are castles, ruined and restored and much, much more.
Skipness is a quiet village on the shore of the Kilbrannan Sound overlooking the Isle of Arran. There are several walks within the village and grounds of the nearby restored castle. Only a short drive away are ferries to the Isle of Arran, Isle of Islay and Isle of Gigha. There are several golf courses in the surrounding area of which Machrihanish Golf Course is the most famous. The nearby town of Tarbert (12 miles away) offers a number of pubs and places to eat out (the local speciality is seafood), along with supermarkets, banks, post office etc.
The views from the house over the sea to Arran are spectacular - and this is a superb family holiday home (children will adore the clean sandy beaches). This part of Argyll is a hidden corner of Scotland and that is part of its great charm - you will really be able to get away from it all here and truly relax in beautiful surroundings.
