Glenelg is a flourishing local community in the heart of the most dramatic Highland landscape overlooking Skye. The Isle of Skye can be easily reached during the summer season by the last turn-table ferry in the world.

This is the area of Gavin Maxwell's Camasferna from where he wrote the classic 'Ring of Bright Water' at Sandaig with its unique white coral beach, where you can still see otters playing today. Glenelg is an ancient settlement with Iron age Pictish Brochs (the best preserved on the British mainland) and Hanovarian Barracks dating from the 1700s. The famous Eilean Donan castle, renowned for being the most photographed in the world, is a short drive away.

This is an outdoor paradise with gentle coastal walks or the perfect opportunity for Munro bashing, the Five Sisters of Kintail and the Cuillins of Skye are within easy reach. There is also fishing, cycling, boat trips, nearby sandy beaches for children to play on - or you can just sit quietly watching the ever-changing scenery.

Glenelg has a rich, diverse wildlife from the majestic red deer, pine martins, seals, porpoises, basking sharks, whales and otters to the shy and rare wild cat.
