Bowersburn
North Kessock, The Black Isle
near Inverness

This holiday house entry is due to expire try:

The Black Isle peninsula is a fantastically scenic part of Scotland. Visitors will really enjoy the rolling landscape, the wonderful coast, and the inland and forest walks that are available. They will also be delighted by the range of wildlife, birdlife and sealife (including if you are lucky, bottle-nosed dolphins) along the way. There are several quaint villages well worth visiting, including the fishing village of Avoch (pronounced 'Och') and the historic town of Cromarty.

The area is really well serviced with village pubs, tearooms and restaurants where you can be assured of a warm welcome. The golf course at Rosemarkie is described as 'a gem of a course by the sea' and the beach at Rosemarkie is fabulous. There is a great network of cycle paths to explore and a challenging mountain bike trail for the hardier biker. Pony trekking, quad-biking, clay pigeon shooting and paintballing are also on your doorstep.

The Black Isle has plenty to offer without going any further, but it is also a great base from which to explore the Highlands. While being a truly 'get away from it all' location the Black Isle also benefits from being minutes away from Inverness, which has a wide range of activities and things to do and see and is extremely well serviced with restaurants and shops.
