This recently refurbished, spacious, detached property enjoys a beautiful location on Braehead in the village of St Monans. It has stunning panoramic views over the picturesque harbour to the Firth of Forth and hills beyond.

St Monans is a quaint, historic, fishing village situated in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. This part of the world is a wonderful place for a holiday or a well deserved short break. The villages of Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Cellardyke and Crail are all within easy reach and only a short distance along the coast. The historic university town of St Andrews, which is famous as the home of golf, is only 10 miles away.

The local area caters for many interests including hiking, walking, cycling, golf, watersports, sea angling and local boat trips. There is also much to see for anyone with an interest in the arts or history. Alternatively if you want a more lazy time, the area has some beautiful beaches and wonderful restaurants and cafes. The property is situated on the Fife Coastal Path which stretches from the Forth Bridge in the south to the Tay Bridge in the north: this path follows a scenic route and provides some wonderful walking. There are a large number of fine golf courses including championship courses all close by.

This part of Fife boasts a number of excellent restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes and budgets within easy reach of the holiday accommodation. The award winning Seafood Restaurant is situated in St Monans itself and the May-View Hotel serves up good pub food. Other notable places to eat are The Cellar in Cellardyke, Sangsters in Elie and the Peat Inn which are all award-winning restaurants. If you are looking for good fish and chips then the famous Anstruther Fish Bar is the place to go!

Accommodation:
The accommodation was recently refurbished and is furnished to a very high and extremely comfortable standard. There is original wood flooring which contributes to the character of the building.

On the ground floor the property features a spacious living/dining room running from the front to the rear with bay windows at both ends, enjoying sea views to the front. The wood-burning stove adds to the ambience - as well as providing heat! There is a large ground floor bedroom also with sea views which has an adjacent WC and shower room. The modern newly fitted kitchen and spacious hall complete the ground floor accommodation.

Upstairs there is large master bedroom (with en-suite shower room) which has a wide Dormer window to the front making the most of the stunning views. A further twin bedroom with sea views to the front and side along with an upper landing complete the upstairs accommodation.

The house is light and airy and in the summer months the garden at the rear enjoys sunlight late into the evenings. There is private off street parking.

Directions:
From the south: Cross the Forth Bridge and take exit 2a off the M90 to Kirkcaldy. Follow signs for A915 to Leven and on to Lundin Links and Upper Largo. After Upper Largo take the A917 to Elie, continue on through Elie and St Monans is the next village.

From the north: Cross the Tay Bridge and follow signs for St Andrews A914/A919. Continue through Leuchars till you come to Guardbridge turn left onto A91 and continue on to St Andrews follow signs for the East Neuk, Crail and Anstruther.

Leaving St Andrews heading south on the coast road you will come to a Y junction take the right hand road signposted for Anstruther B9131. Enter Anstruther straight through a mini roundabout till you come to a roundabout on the main road at the top of Roger Street, take a right, go through the village of Pittenweem and St Monans is the next village. Final directions will be provided on booking.

Cost and availability:
This lovely Fife self-catering cottage is rented out year round.
Change over day is Saturday, 4pm check in and 10am check out.
Short breaks when available (min 3 nights) from �100 per night.
All linens, towels and bedding is provided within the rental charge, as is all gas and electricity. Free initial supply of logs.
