Kips Cottage is a former croft situated in a stunning location facing the north coast of Sutherland and surrounded by hillside. It is a charming and homely cottage and offers total peace and quiet while being part of the hamlet that is Kirtomy. It has amazing views over the sea and fantastic views of the changing coastal scenery.
Sutherland offers beautifully wild landscape combining amazing white sandy beaches with imposing mountains, rugged hills and rushing streams in between moorland and coast. Kips Cottage is uniquely placed to explore the north coast of Scotland being centrally situated with both east and west coasts within striking distance.
The area is an outdoor paradise with mountains to climb, fish to catch, beaches to roam, waves to ride and wildlife to spot. There are several rivers within a short drive – Naver, Borgie, Strathy and Halladale - all which offer good salmon fishing and also there is a myriad of lochs, streams and estuaries to explore.

Accommodation:
There is a spacious living area with sofas and a pine dining table and a lovely open fire at one end. A charming double bedroom is accessed from one end. Also on the ground floor is an enchanting wood panelled kitchen with a kitchen table and French doors out onto the decked area outside. The kitchen has an electric oven and a butler’s sink. Situated off the kitchen is a bathroom with bath and basin and lavatory.
Upstairs is a long attic area with lots of usable space for single beds and children
(although there are some stairs up to it and it has
limited headroom). There is plenty of parking and a garden to explore.
Directions:
Travel via Inverness on the A9. Take the turn to Bonar Bridge and Lairg then straight up to Tongue. Turn right onto the Thurso road towards Bettyhill and Kirtomy is approximately 3 miles through Bettyhill on the left hand side. The turning is signposted.
What's included:
Linen can be provided however the cottage is normally let
without - please enquire. Electricity is included in the selfcatering rental price. One bag of coal and one bag of kindling is provided.

This Sutherland cottage is rented out year round - Saturday to Saturday.
Checking in time is 4pm and checking out is 10am.
