Windyhill self-catering holiday cottage is comfortable and remote, located in the far North West of Scotland it is an exceptional holiday retreat for families and couples. Views from the cottage are breathtaking, the northern light and the closeness of the water make this a very special place with a romantic feel.

Windyhill was designed by an architect and has some superb features, situated in its own hillside grounds with magnificent views towards the Summer Isles. 4 miles away is the village of Altandhu, with shops, inns and a good restaurant.

Activities that are available locally include trout and salmon fishing, deep-sea fishing as well as boat trips to the Islands. There are amazing panoramic views and the countryside offers superb walking and many sandy beaches.

The newly built holiday home is extremely warm, with very good insulation and central heating, keeping it cosy even in the winter. Under floor electric heating keeps the ground floor toasty warm and the upper floor has modern efficient electric storage radiators as well as a solid fuel stove. Windyhill sleeps five people in great comfort and is available for weekly and short rentals. Pets are welcomed to the cottage, but must be kept under strict control as there are many sheep roaming the hillside.

Accommodation:
On the ground floor of the cottage are the bedrooms sleeping 5 people, there is one double bedroom, one twin bedded room and one single bedroom. All the bedrooms are well designed, with plenty of built in wardrobe space and comfortable beds. Also on the ground floor is the hall and the entrance vestibule, a shower room with W.C., a separate W.C. and a laundry room.

Upstairs on, making the most of the glorious views, is a spectacular open plan living-room, dining area and kitchen. A multi fuel stove makes an attractive and popular feature and there are rugs on the wooden floor. A truly inspiring room, and one where many a happy gathering have exchanged stories of beach walks and hill climbs.

1 1/2 hours to Inverness International Airport
50 miles to Stornoway Airport

The area:
Achiltibuie is a very small Scottish town, with a church, a shop and a well regarded hotel and restaurant.
Inverewe Gardens is a great outing, and the bird reserve at Handa Island is also within easy reach. But with the sandy beaches and dramatic west of Scotland lochsides, full of coves to explore, you will not be short of things to do.

What's included:
All bed linen, including cotton duvet coversand towels.
There is ample car parking at the cottage.
Fully fitted kitchen with: electric hob, microwave, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and tumbe dryer.

What's not included:For the electricity and Total Control electric central heating - initial £20 per week is included, thereafter by meter reading.
Multi fuel stove - fuel available locally.

Cost and availability.
The cottage is rented out year round.
Rental periods are generally a week - although short breaks with a minimum 3 days rental are available. Checking in time is 5pm and checking out is 10am.

January, February, March are £400.00 per week or 70% for 3 nights short break.
April, May and June are £549.00 per week or 70% for 3 nights short break.
July and August are £649.00 per week or 70% for 3 nights short break.
September, October, November and December please apply.
