This is a really stunning, luxury holiday cottage in central Scotland - by romantic Loch Lomond, it is perfect for a honeymoon. Looking at the quality of the accommodation it is easy to see why it was awarded 5 stars from the Scottish Tourist Board!

Auchenheglish Lodge is a B listed Victorian house, and Smiddy Lodge is located in the former stables, surrounding a cobbled courtyard. Situated within 12 acres of glorious, private grounds on the shores of Loch Lomond, this is a perfect, tranquil place for a holiday in Scotland. You are within easy reach of Edinburgh, Glasgow and the highlands, and Loch Lomond itself is one of the most beautiful lochs in Scotland. There is lots to do in the local area - water-sports, golf fishing, riding, walking and plenty of historical sights and castles to visit.

There are five restraunts and bars nearby so you will be spoil for choice if you want to eat out. The owners live nearby and provide any help or information you may need - and offer a very warm welcome. Loch Lomond is part of Scotland's first National Park and the scenery is spectacular - rugged mountains and hills surround the beautiful loch. Scotland is a fabulous spot for a honeymoon or a holiday for two and this luxury cottage offers perfect accommodation.

Accommodation:
The spacious sitting room and dining area has wooden floors and an original stone wall. It leads out to a large conservatory where you can relax and admire the glorious views of the gardens. The modern, luxury kitchen is fully fitted with everything you will need. The loft-style bedroom has a king-sized bed and sky TV, in case you want to watch the end of the late-night film in comfort!

The shower-room is modern and luxurious and the whole cottage is cosy and warm, even in the winter. There is a private patio area outside with a barbeque and table and chairs - perfect for al fresco dining.

Directions:
Nearest Airport:
Glasgow Airport is 30 mins away, Edinburgh is 45 mins, and Prestwick is about 50 minutes.
By Road:
From the south:
The M74 will take you to the south side of Glasgow. On your approach to Glasgow follow the signs for the M73 which will take you to the M8 - Loch Lomond, Greenock. Leave the M8 and Glasgow at Junction 30, for Erskine Bridge (60p toll). Over the bridge, join the A82 following signs for Crianlarich. Stay on the A82 for approximately 9 miles.

From the east (via Glasgow Airport):
Follow the M8 west bound heading for Greenock. Leave the M8 at junction 30, then follow instructions above.

The cottage is rented out year round.
Rental periods are usually Saturday to Saturday. Checking in time is 4pm and checking out is 10am. Short breaks are welcome.
Cost of rental in 2005:
From £430/week to £595/week. Short breaks are £295 from October to April.
