Situated between Perth and Dundee, Stable Cottage lies on the Inchyra Estate which is perfectly situated for almost anything you might want to do or see in Scotland. Stable Cottage is the former groom's cottage for the estate and nestles in the corner of the old stable yard. Inchyra is 10 minutes from Perth which is well worth a visit just to see the setting on the River Tay, but you will also want to visit Scone Palace or perhaps spend a day at the races. Dundee, which is shortly to see the opening of the new Victoria and Albert Museum, is 15 minutes east and from there you are on the road to Angus and Aberdeenshire.

You can be in Edinburgh by car in 50 mins, opening up the world of the Fringe, the Festival and Edinburgh's many top class restaurants, shops and museums. Glasgow is about an hour and a half by car and has a country-wide reputation for some of the best shopping and a buzzing restaurant and nightlife. If you're after something a bit quieter, head north into the highlands. You can be in Dunkeld, the gateway to the highlands, in 25 minutes and from there you can drive on to Pitlochry and Aberfeldy. Awe-inspiring mountains and lochs offer endless possibilities for walks and treks: there are many companies offering entertainment for the more adventurous with kayaking, canyoning and more.

Head east from Inchyra and you can visit the vast empty beaches at Tentsmuir on your way to St Andrews and the beauty of the Kingdom of Fife. Or drive up into Angus to visit the quintessential Scottish castle of Glamis, family home of the late Queen Mother. There are a multitude of historic houses and beautiful gardens within striking distance of the cottage.

From your base at Stable Cottage you can fish, shoot, hunt, climb, walk, ride, fly, kayak, white water raft, mountain bike, sail and more and, of course, one of the main reasons many people come to this area of Scotland is for the golf. There are forty courses in Perthshire alone and several championship courses within easy reach with Gleneagles, Carnoustie and St Andrews nearby, as well as many more world-renowned courses.

Accommodation:
Stable Cottage is situated in the stable block of Inchyra House, a Grade A listed Georgian house in the beautiful Carse of Gowrie in Perthshire. The house was built in 1795 and was designed by the renowned Scottish architect James Gillespie Graham. Inchyra House and its outbuildings sit at the end of a long drive in 120 acres of stunning mature parkland. You will find yourself surrounded by fields of horses, cows and sheep and with free range chickens pecking about. Inchyra has the big advantage of being very close to great transport and towns while being tucked away in its own little world.

You enter the cottage into the breakfast room, with a table seating 6. The breakfast room sits in the old stable yard and catches the sun through the day. Through the hallway is a well equipped kitchen on your left and a cosy sitting room on your right. With sofa and chairs, a big log fire and drinks cupboard, this is a room to curl up in after a long day out and catch up on a bit of television or chat round the fire. The interior of the cottage has been beautifully decorated throughout in the owner's own Inchyra linens, produced here in Scotland.

The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and hob and has a picture window through to the breakfast room. The main house has a huge laundry room and the owners are very happy to provide a laundry service if needed. On the ground floor, you will also find a modern bathroom with a linen blind and warm cork floor. The bathroom has a bath with shower over.

Up the winding stairs, the first bedroom is a lovely double room with original fireplace, cupboard wardrobe, plenty of storage space and a pretty covered dressing table. Decorated to a very high standard this is a really pretty room, with sweeping views over the fields. Next is the blue twin room with two wonderfully comfortable beds and, again, an original fireplace and overlooking the old stable yard. This is a wonderfully light room. The third room at the end of the cottage is a twin, decorated in classic red ticking linen. A beautiful dark off-white colour gives this room a very cosy feel, and again it features an original fireplace. With good storage and a pretty dressing table, this room also overlooks the old stable yard.
