This pretty stone cottage, which provides a very comfortable and warm holiday home for four, is situated on Dunalastair Estate which is a large traditional family-run highland farming estate in an area full of things to do and places to visit. This delightful, newly refurbished, 19th century cottage stands on a slight rise a short distance from an attractive boulder strewn stretch of the River Tummel and some dramatic falls. There are mature shrubs and trees in the garden including birches and Scots pines and you are likely to see plenty of wildlife such as buzzards, woodpeckers and deer in the vicinity. Tuim is very well equipped and colourfully furnished and has a woodburning stove and oil-fired central heating.

The views of the Perthshire countryside and hills are stunning - and you can walk from the doorstep of the cottage and explore them all. This lovely holiday cottage in Perthshire gives you easy access to Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and the glorious highland scenery that surrounds it. Outdoor pursuits are plentiful and varied - from golf, pony trekking, fishing, and walking. There is a tennis court on the estate available for guests to use free of charge, free fishing on part of the River Tummel and a boat on the estate's loch. This is a glorious part of Scotland for a relaxing a carefree vacation and Tuim Cottage is a perfect place to stay in Scotland. Accommodation:
Tuim Cottage is all on one floor and there is a spacious L-shaped sitting/dining room with, in the original stone fireplace, a cosy wood-burning stove. A comfortable sofa and armchairs are grouped around the fire and there are table lamps, attractive furnishings and plenty of books and puzzles. Leading off this is a small sun room facing south. The pretty double bedroom has a kingsize (5 ft) bed and a door leads from here into the family bathroom (which has a door from the living room, too). The bathroom has bath with shower over, WC and basin. The sunny and bright twin bedroom has pine furniture and pretty roman blinds. The kitchen is very well equipped and modern. Being on a rise, there are steps up to the front door which may be unsuitable for those with walking difficulties.

Directions
From Pitlochry:
Drive north for a short distance and take the B8019 for Kinloch Rannoch and follow this road until you reach Tummel Bridge, about 14 miles. At the junction, turn right onto the B846 still towards Kinloch Rannoch. The cottage is on the left hand side just beyond the waterfall and beyond the turning to East Lodge, about 1 1/2 miles from Tummel Bridge.

What's not included: Personal hand and bath towels (except for overseas visitors)): £15 per pet/week.

Cost and availability.
Tuim Cottage, Dunalastair is rented out year round.
Rental periods are generally a week - Friday to Friday. Checking in time is after 4pm and checking out is 10am.
