Bakehouse Cottage sits in the picturesque highland village of Kirkmichael, 12 miles from the pretty little town of Pitlochry, amidst the stunning mountains, forests and moorlands of Perthshire. This is an area of great natural beauty at the gateway to the Cairngorm National Park and being in the geographical centre of Scotland is the ideal base for touring: in fact roads lead from the village to the south, north-west and to the east!

There is a wealth of outdoor activities in the area, for walkers the Cateran Trail passes through the village, for climbers the magnificent Cairngorms are on the doorstep, there is good angling in the local river and surrounding lochs. Also, golfers are spoilt for choice with courses ranging from Britain's highest course at Glenshee to the renowned St Andrews Old Course within easy driving distance, there are trails for mountain biking and in winter the Glenshee Ski Area offers the best facilities in Scotland. There are stately homes such as Glamis Castle and Scone Palace to visit, distillery visitor centres where guests can sample a dram, folk museums, art galleries, leisure centres and swimming pools all with in easy reach making Highland Perthshire the ideal destination for a self-catering holiday at any time of year.

Accommodation:
Ground floor: On the ground floor there is a bright open plan living/dining/kitchen with original beams. Also the bathroom with a shower over bath. First floor: Upstairs there is a bright double bedroom and also a smaller children's twin bedroom. Outside, there is a small courtyard garden to the rear of the property, an ideal place to sit and relax. The cottage has its own private parking.

Directions to Bakehouse Cottage:-
By road, it is best to approach Kirkmichael from Pitlochry. Follow the main A9 to Pitlochry and in the middle of the town turn onto the A924 which is sign posted to Braemar ( opposite WH Smith). Follow this road for 12 miles to the village of Kirkmichael. Enter the village and turn sharp right into the second lane after the telephone box (immediately before shop/filling station).

Cost and availability.
Change over day is a Saturday. The cottage is rented out year round and short breaks are available.
Discounts: A discount of 10% is given for parties of 2 or less. Also, a 10% discount is applied for a second week.
