Gowanlea Muthill, nr Crieff, Perthshire

This stylish, well-appointed property commands a very pleasant location opposite the village green in the heart of Muthill, a quaint historical village in the idyllic Earn Valley at the centre of rural Perthshire. Deceptively spacious on three floors, it offers a perfect base to spend a relaxing break or an activity-filled holiday with ample leisure facilities at guests' disposal. There is a large enclosed garden to the rear of the house with patio for enjoying al fresco dining.

The famous Gleneagles with its golf courses and other outstanding sporting facilities is a short drive away with many other golf courses in the surrounding area including in Muthill itself. Superb walking, angling and cycling are all readily available or for a more leisurely break visit some of the many castles and stately homes in the area. Drummond Castle (3 miles), for example, features a superb Italianate Garden. Close by for children is Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre near Comrie which is a wonderful day out for all the family.

The bustling market town of Crieff offers plenty of shopping and eating out as well as a good variety of leisure facilities including Crieff Hydro where there is a swimming pool and health suite. In Muthill itself there is an excellent pub/restaurant, post office and shop. This is a great house to rent in the heart of Scotland - Edinburgh and Glasgow are easily reached if you want to explore their cultural and historic treats.

For the children there is the nearby Ceramic Experience, Auchingarroch Wildlife Centre and Crieff Park with tennis courts and trampolining facilities. Twenty minutes away by car in one direction you have Stirling, with its famous castle, Blair Drummond Safari Park, shopping, bowling and new cinema complex. Twenty minutes in the other direction we have Perth by the river Tay which offers Noah's Ark soft play complex, with indoor karting, golf driving range, ceramics, ten pin bowling and trampolining, as well as Perth Leisure Centre, bowling, ice rink, theatres and a wide variety of shopping opportunities. Scone Palace in Perth, home of the Stone of Destiny, is also well worth a visit.

Accommodation:
Downstairs there is a spacious living room with a view to the rear garden, dining-room with TV and wooden floor and a large well-equipped kitchen with range cooker and door to the garden. Also downstairs is the shower room/WC with large shower cubicle. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one with 5ft bed, one with a built-in wardrobe. Also a bathroom/WC with separate shower cubicle.

On the second floor are two twin-bedded rooms, each with sloping ceiling and large Velux windows.

Outside there is a large enclosed rear garden with small stream complete with garden furniture.

Gowanlea is in the Perthshire village of Muthill. Muthill can be easily accessed from the following villages and towns, Crieff, Braco, Gleneagles Village, Auchterarder, Perth, Stirling - follow sign posts.
