This really delightful holiday cottage was once an apple store and judging by the angle of some of the walls, a cider brewery as well! Apple Cottage is on a small private estate nestled between the River Earn and the Ochil hills - a stunning part of Scotland. Rossie dates from 1657 so there are magnificent trees on the estate and the beautiful gardens open under the Scotland's Garden Scheme. The paddocks and surrounding farmland make you feel as if you are quintessentially in the best the countryside has to offer and are a joy to walk through. This romantic cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped to a high standard offering the ultimate comfort - ideal for a holiday, short break or a honeymoon.

It is an ideal place to holiday from: Perth is only 7 miles away with its new Concert Hall, theatre, museum, art galleries, great shops and superb restaurants. There are many golf courses in the local area and Gleneagles is just 15 minutes away, and St Andrews 1 hour. Being so centrally situated it is an ideal location for setting off to explore the beaches and villages of the east coast of Fife or north for a day in the highlands. It is only an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow the culture of these cities is within easy reach (and you can go there easily and cheaply by train or bus from Perth). Alternatively it can provide city dwellers an idyllic escape for a short break to the Scottish countryside.

For those just wanting to relax at Rossie, you can walk down to the River Earn for some fishing, back for a game of tennis on the Astroturf court and then walk the gardens in the evening with a glass of wine. A perfect place to stay for a couple wanting to get away from it all (many visitors don't leave the estate at all!).

Accommodation: Apple Cottage has recently been restored to a luxury double bedroomed cottage and is very well appointed and extremely comfortable.The kitchen/dining room is large and opens on to a pretty courtyard garden which is a sun trap, sheltered from the wind. The sitting room also overlooks the courtyard and has a living flame fireplace and large TV with DVD. The bathroom has a tub bath, a separate shower unit and airing cupboard. The kitchen is very well equipped for everything you are likely to need on holiday. This is a tranquil and romantic corner of Scotland to be enjoyed for however many nights suit you. Directions to Apple Cottage: Rossie is situated seven miles south west of Perth, three miles west of Bridge of Earn and five miles east of Dunning on the B934. What's included: Heating, electricity, crisp cotton bed linen and fluffy white towels are all included. Cost and availability: For weekly lets we would appreciate it if guests arrive between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday and leave by 10am the following Saturday - weekend and short breaks are welcome and timings flexible. Only well behaved dogs may visit as Rossie is a wildlife sanctuary - please discuss before booking. Sorry, no smoking in the cottage.
