The area offers a superb choice for walkers of all abilities with numerous forest walks, a range of longer walks in the Cairngorms and also the opportunity to tackle a selection of Munros. The area is also a haven for wildlife. Native red squirrels and numerous species of birds can be seen in the Den of Alyth whilst a few miles away at either Lintrathen Loch or the Loch of Lowes ospreys are often spotted.

There are many historic places of interest to visit in the surrounding area including the Angus Folk Museum, Glamis Castle – the childhood home of the late Queen Mother – and Scone Palace. The famous town of St Andrews is only an hour’s drive away with its wonderful golf courses, beautiful beaches, the St Andrews Aquarium not to mention its famous university. Closer by is Dundee with attractions such as Discovery Point, HM Frigate Unicorn, Science Sensation, the award winning Verdant Works and Dundee Contemporary Arts.
