cottages sleeping 1 to 4 people in Perthshire

Arran is often referred to as "Scotland in Miniature" and once there you will see why. Mountains, beaches, golf, sand, sea, walks, wildlife, everything to make up a fabulous family holiday. The island has 9 golf courses, countless walks and Goat Fell to climb, Brodick Castle and gardens, cycling, riding, quad biking, the list is endless.

Catacol Farmhouse is set in a quiet bay at the northern end of the island, one mile from Lochranza where a ferry makes regular crossings to Clonaig (summer) and Tarbet (winter) for trips to the mainland. The Catacol Hotel pub is a three minute walk away as is the beach at the end of the drive, littered with mussels for eating and a treasure trove for children with buckets! For those who have a boat to bring, a mooring can be provided for the duration of your stay (by special request). Set in 9 acres of woods and fields, with views across the Sound of Kilbrannan to Kintyre, Catacol is a wonderful and restful place to relax, or to be energetic depending on your preference.

Nestled below the hills in Catacol Bay, Catacol Farmhouse enjoys stunning scenery and walks directly available from the house. There is a burn winding across the fields to the sea and the beach has glorious water for adults and children alike. Arran itself offers plenty of interest for all ages: The Arran cheese shop, Arran Aromatics, Lochranza Distillery, Creelers for fish, pubs, potteries, Goat Fell, art galleries, fishing shops, and don't forget the golf!

The house is warm and welcoming and filled with games, playing cards and puzzles for your use. Well behaved dogs are welcome as far as the kitchen, where they can lie by the aga after a long walk. There is table tennis and darts in the garage, and the owners' children make a cricket strip each summer for hours of fun right in front of the house. With wildlife in abundance and the sea on your doorstep, Catacol is a wonderful and comfortable place to spend time with your family, away from home.
