TESTIMONIALS

Beautiful
We loved everything about New Brackashie cottage. The linens were crisp, the floors in the bathrooms heated, the rain shower downstairs, the comfort of the furniture. The cottage was decorated very tastefully and the view was spectacular. Quiet and serene and so so beautiful. We wished we had longer to stay as we did a tour of Loch Ness out of Inverness and a tour of the Jacobite Steam Train out of Fort William. Wished we had at least one more day to do nothing but enjoy the Loch.

Definitely recommend staying here if you like peace and quiet and beauty.
In addition to being located in an incredible environment, the cottage is comfortable and luxurious. Decorated with great taste, this is probably the best vacation rental we have ever had. I absolutely recommend!

Wonderful week on Loch Knockie
This was a very special and relaxing place to spend a week on our travels! The home is beautifully designed and decorated yet comfortable and welcoming. The amenities are very nice and the beds and linens are especially comfortable and beautiful. We really enjoyed using the canoe and row boat to explore the lake! The kitchen is very well appointed and the coffee and steamed milk were great! Communication with the owner was easy and relaxed. We had dinner at the nearby Whitebridge Hotel twice and enjoyed that very much. We would love to return to this very special place and have recommended it to friends who are planning a trip to Scotland.

This is a very comfortable, well equipped, stylish cottage in a secluded and peaceful location. The setting is glorious, the views spectacular and the cottage is always warm and snug thanks to a very efficient wood burner. A perfect place to enjoy a break in the highlands. On site boating and trout fishing are an added bonus.

We loved our week at New Brachkashie Cottage - what a beautiful and peaceful location. A great base for exploring the region - we did some hiking, cycling and kayaking. Paddling on Loch Knockie when it was calm and quiet was just perfect. Would definitely recommend this lovely cottage for a great getaway.

Absolutely fabulous week in this wonderful place! We love the house, the boats, the decor, the peace and the spectacular views! We have enjoyed the Loch side picnics, hiking to Loch Ness, electric mountain biking along the canals, fires in the evenings. The beds are so cosy and waking up to "that view" is wonderful. We will miss it...until next time!

Everything about this place is stunning. The house is beautiful inside and out, the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. There’s a fire built for your arrival, a loch with your own boats waiting for you and the best view your ever gonna see from a bedroom window anywhere in the UK. Best holiday we’ve ever had. Loved every second

We stayed for a week here for our first trip to Scotland. The cottage is stunning and the garden and views are wonderful. The decor and fittings in the cottage are all high quality and everything you need is provided. We had the most fantastic week taking in The lochs, boating on Loch knockie amd taking a rib boat on Loch Ness. We visited Urquhart castle and the fall of foyers, Dores beach, Fort augustus many times. Will definitely return here again.

Fantastic!

Fantastic cottage, in the most beautiful location. Very clean and comfortable inside. The garden is amazing with access to the loch. There’s plenty to see and do, both straight out of the house and also a short drive away. I would have liked to be able to listen to the news each day. So a radio in place of no TV would be nice. I would definalty recomend this cottage.

Resplendent cottage in a magnificent setting

This has without a doubt been the best cottage we have stayed in over our annual 20 year pilgrimage to Scotland. Everything is catered for including fly fishing rods and the cottage is wonderfully appointed both in situation and content. A true gem and one which was incredibly difficult to leave but which will be wonderfully easy to revisit-which we will absolutely be doing.

….New Brachkashie is simply the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. The cottage is beautifully set on the banks of Loch Knockie and has large grounds which the kids loved to explore….

….This is our fourth stay at Brachkashie and we love it! We had a short visit this time because of school holidays didn’t allow for a week. It wasn’t long enough! The cottage is beautiful, the location is stunning and it is a real escape from busy city lives, It is the perfect place to unwind and get away from everything!

……New Brachkashie really is a little bit of heaven! Secluded on a beautiful loch surrounded by trees with no one else around, we had the most amazing time seeing all the different birds and deer and even an Otter swam up to us on our private jetty! The cottage is fully equipped for a home away from home and Catherine has done a fantastic job decorating and furnishing.

The cottage is beautiful, the location is stunning and it is a real escape from busy city lives. It is a perfect place to unwind and get away from everything. Fort Augustus is only a twenty minute drive away and we like to cycle along the canal from there. You can do amazing walks from the cottage and what we really enjoyed this year, was sailing in the little topper. Take wet suits! Its always a joy to wake up and enjoy a Nespresso coffee too - Catherine hasn’t forgotten anything! Very comfortable beds too with wonderful linen and cosy blankets. It also has a wonderful wood burning stove so you are never cold - that with the underfloor heating.

New Brachkashie is simply the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. The house is beautifully set on the banks of Loch Knockie and has large grounds which the kids loved to explore, with small dens to hide away in and let their imaginations run wild. The property has been interior designed to a very high standard and puts you in the Highland frame of mind immediately you walk through the door.
If you are thinking of booking this then please do, you will not be disappointed. Catherine’s communication before the stay and after was excellent and we were made to feel welcome and appreciated. We will be booking again as soon as we can.

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage. My 3 and 6 year old had great fun making dens and exploring. My partner loved the private loch and fished every night while I enjoyed the surroundings and wood burning stove. We frequented Fort Augustus which has a fantastic butchers, the kids loved the canal boats. We also thoroughly enjoyed a boat trip on Loch Ness, a visit to Urquhart Castle and an open top bus tour of Inverness. We also went Pony trekking. So much to do in gorgeous accommodation within beautiful grounds. In fact we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked for next Summer. Thank you Catherine.

This part of the country has always been a favourite with us and we noticed New Brachkashie when out one day. This was a few years back and it took a bit of time to find the owners and agree our first rental. I am glad we persevered as we are now planning our fourth visit, and booking is now a lot simpler. We have had great times enjoying the peace and tranquility, the fishing and the scenery of the area. The cottage is beautifully presented to the very highest standard and the location is simply stunning. Whether we are sitting on the deck taking in the view or enjoying the warmth from the stove in the sitting room in the company of friends, this place has a magic of its own that keeps us coming back. Each visit is as memorable and enjoyable as the last.

We have recently returned from a fantastic week at New Brachkashie. The cottage is extremely welcoming, very well equipped throughout and decorated to a high standard. The views out over Loch Knockie are absolutely stunning and we saw a wide variety of wildlife including a Pine Marten and Osprey. As the sun shone all week we spent many hours on the Loch in the boats provided and were even successful at fishing. We also ventured out most days to the surrounding areas which are equally as beautiful. We had a fantastic holiday at New Brachkashie and will definitely return one day. Many thanks to Catherine, George and Family for letting us stay at your beautiful cottage.

We have really enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The cottage is very nicely decorated, offers a very high standard in terms of equipment, cleanliness and style. During the day we enjoyed the direct lake access with private rowing boat and the plenty of hiking options, in the evenings we enjoyed the cooking facilities and the cosy living room with the charming fireplace, during the night we enjoyed the comfortable beds and mattresses. I highly recommend this cottage for any nature lover or someone searching for a luxury retreat. We really felt like at a friends house :-)

We spent the most wonderful 3 nights at Brachkashie. The property is set on Loch Knockie which offers the most spectacular views from all the rooms of the house. The cottage has been styled beautifully and carries very luxurious touches - gorgeous bedding/blankets, log burner, books/maps, toiletries.

We stayed at New Brackashie for three nights towards the end of a week-long holiday. The property is absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable and with a well-equiped kitchen. The location is absolutely stunning, on the banks of Loch Knockie and a short drive from both Inverness and Fort Augustus. We had a fantastic few days, and we’re sad to leave when the time came. Although we live in Australia currently, we often visit family in the UK, and I am sure that we will return to this beautiful place. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing home with us!

We have just returned having spent the most idyllic 4 days on Lock Knockie. The cottage is finished to a high standard. Its clean, excellently designed with beautiful features inside and out. I have already recommended this cottage to a few of my Welsh friends. We are already looking at dates to return next Autumn. Thank you so much. Exited to come back to experience another 4 days of bliss and luxury. The best 4 holiday we have ever had.

A cosy, stylish cottage in a breathtaking location

On arrival the cottage looks traditional and unassuming, but on walking through the door you are welcomed by a newly renovated and contemporary, yet cosy interior. The furnishings are comfortable and stylish and the kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary appliances for modern living and cooking. The most memorable part of our holiday was found beyond the cottage, which is stunningly situated on the edge of its own private loch. The trips out in the boats onto the water were the highlight of our stay. I think you could visit at any time of year and enjoy this special location.

What a very special place....tremendous views over loch at the end of your garden!

With a feeling of remoteness & yet easily accessible, this beautifully furnished bijou house sits perfectly overlooking the loch at the end of the garden. Great layout with all the mod cons - beds are sumptuous with amazing pillows, bags of hot water & seasoned wood to feed the hugely efficient wood burner, what more could you want?! Walks and bicycle trails on the doorstep & nature everywhere - make sure you bring your binoculars! The Visitors book read like something from the United Nations so visit now before it becomes too popular!

Absolutely superb holiday home in the highlands. Really great setup with underfloor heating, lovely styling and log burner amongst everything else you’d need for a great week away. Fantastic locals walks and brilliant drives. Plockton and back road to Inverness both super trips. Sun was lit so we were very lucky. Lovely owners too with great communications before and during the stay. Colour photo is the view from kitchen!

Fantastic Loch-Side Cottage

The cottage couldn’t be more ideally situated! The views of the loch are breath taking and it’s virtually a private loch just for the cottage, it is amazing! The cottage itself is charming and tastefully decorated whilst the deck is perfect to enjoy alfresco dining. There is an abundance of bird life and wildlife to enjoy from the house too for those who love animals. We enjoyed a few day trips as it’s a great location to visit Speyside, Balmoral, Glencoe, and the Isle of Skye. My wife and I are already thinking of our next stay!
