Rannawa
Portessie, Nr Buckie, Moray

Moray is a haven for wildlife, a keen eye can often spot dolphins, seals, otters, whales and maybe a falcon throughout the year. Other visitors include ospreys, geese and many other migratory birds. There are literally miles and miles of beautiful coastline to explore with numerous caves and ruins of castles providing homes for a wide range of wildlife. Inland there are quaint villages, castles, nature reserves, woodland walks, rivers, lochs, rolling hills, mountains and magnificent scenery with the Cairngorm and Lecht mountain ranges within easy reach.

Walking and cycling are very popular in the area and there are well signposted routes for all ages. Both for the younger and the more experienced off road cyclists there are monster trails set up in the woods locally which can really give you the thrill of your life. Fishing, shooting, off-road driving, quad biking, golfing, boat trips and water sports, horse riding, climbing, flying, skiing and snow boarding, tours, museums and the famous whisky trail with its distilleries are all within the area and many activities can be pre arranged if required. For those that prefer staying within the villages and towns there are numerous shops, visitor centres, Baxters of Speyside, Walkers Shortbread, Johnstons Woollen Mills, swimming pools, fitness centre, skating rink, ten pin bowling and go karts. There are lovely restaurants, pubs and night clubs if you feel up for a dance, either in or within easy reach of Buckie.
