Pavilion Cottage is a haven for all seasons, in the idyllic Wigtownshire countryside. It is a cosy, detached, listed cottage with open-air heated swimming-pool and large enclosed lawn, safe for children and pets. Set within a charming walled garden on the Galloway House estate, the cottage is surrounded by historic woodland gardens, rare breed sheep, Indian runner ducks and free range hens - (who obligingly lay for the welcome packs), and organic farmland. If you need further persuasion, less than 5 minutes walk leads you to a secluded, tree-lined sandy beach, with views across to the Lake District - just perfect for those early morning strolls or paddling with the children.

Take the pretty coastal walk to the harbour village of Garlieston, 1 mile away, where you will find all weather tennis courts, bowling green, children's play park, PO, village shop, and the Harbour Inn serving simple tasty homemade meals, suitable for all ages. Wigtown, 'Scotland's book-town', boasting 19 book shops, Bladnoch, Scotland's southernmost distillery, and Whithorn, home of Saint Ninian and the early Christian settlers are all just a few minutes drive away. The beautiful Galloway Hills and Forest Park, numerous golf courses, stunning hill walks and cycle tracks and famous gardens are also within easy reach. But the fabulous wildlife, fantastic open skies and a general sense of relaxation can all be had from your cottage doorstep all year round. Accommodation:
This is a charming holiday cottage in Wigtownshire, near the village of Garlieston which provides a truly restful environment for a holiday. On the ground floor, the living area has a wood-burning stove, sofa bed, TV and video, perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring or beach-combing. The huge garden room with its large dining area and window seats extends the living area, and provides really flexible living space, augmented by the double doors which open out onto the walled garden for al fresco dining. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything from a fridge/freezer to a coffee maker, and along with the range cooker is perfect for making the most of the local produce. The washing machine is in an adjacent building with a nearby drying area. There is a wet-room near the pool with shower, loo and wash basin for guests to use.

Also on the ground floor are two of the lovely bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with a single bed with comfortable pull-out for twin or double use. This room leads directly to the garden providing disabled access if required. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and washbasin. The whole of the downstairs area has under floor heating - ideal if you are staying for an autumn or winter break! An open staircase leads to a galleried landing which in turn gives access to two cosy loft rooms, each with a single bed.

What's included:
All bed linen, bath towels, tea towels and duvets are provided. Electricity and heating also included. A travel cot and high chair are available if required.

Cost and availability.
Pavilion Cottage is rented out year round. 2, 3 and 4 night short breaks are welcome from January to Easter and November to Christmas, prices start from £87 per night.
Weekly lets are generally Saturday-Saturday, except for low season short breaks which may start on Friday, Saturday or Monday.
Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am.
