Cottages in
Dumfries & Galloway

cottages sleeping 1 to 4 people in Perthshire

Dalgarnock Cottage is one of six luxury cottages set in the beautiful scenery of Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage faces a spectacular outlook down the Nithsdale Valley and sits in some of the loveliest, least-trampled countryside in Scotland. Many visitors return to Templand Cottages again and again (there is a very high level of repeat bookings) to enjoy the beauty and stress-free environment on offer.

The attractive village of Thornhill is only half a mile away and has an excellent selection of shops, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. Templand Cottages are a great place to stay for walkers and cyclists. There are also horse riding facilities just around the corner. Closeby is the river Nith which is excellent for fishing especially salmon fishing and is only around a 10 minute walk away from the complex. Also there is very good trout fishing available on local lochs. There are several golf courses in the area; the course at Thornhill is particularly attractive and welcomes visitors.

The area has many castles and historic houses worth visiting. Drumlanrig Castle and Country Park (only approx 4 miles away) has beautiful gardens and a famous art collection. Attractions at the castle also include superb French furniture, a 300 year old silver chandelier, cabinets made for Louis XIV, silver, porcelain and tapestries. On a smaller scale, Morton Castle, Closeburn Castle and Caerlaverock Castle are all also worth a visit.
