The Byre Crail, Fife

This attractive and spacious cottage is in a secluded position yet within easy reach of all amenities in the centre of the historic and picturesque fishing village of Crail. This is ideal holiday accommodation for golfers - St Andrews just 15 minutes drive and there are lots of other golf courses nearby including two in Crail. There is an abundance of activities for everyone on the doorstep including walking, cycling, beaches, art galleries, local shops and restaurants serving delicious local food. Crail is probably the most picturesque of the East Neuk Fishing villages with its famous old harbour, quaint houses and pretty streets. It is ideally situated for family holidays and offers two secluded gardens both accessed from the cottage; grassed garden and decked area with garden furniture and barbeque.

If you want to rent a self-catering cottage in Crail then The Byre is perfectly situated to explore all the East Neuk's attractions. Fife is a lovely part of Scotland for a self-catering holiday and the wide sandy beaches are ideal for children to make sandcastles and fly kites. Fife is ideal for golfing breaks, walkers (the Fife Coastal walk goes through Crail) and ornithologists - as well as those just wanting to relax and escape from it all. Crail is an idyllic Scottish coastal village and there is so much to see and do in the area that you will be spoilt for choice! There are numerous excellent pubs and restaurants nearby if you want a break from self-catering.

 

Accommodation:
The cottage has been cleverly designed to offer spacious accommodation with plenty of windows allowing the light to stream in (the whole house is a barn conversion - the refurbishment was completed in 2006) There are two separate areas of garden ground both accessed from the cottage. One of the areas is enclosed and decked, it has a table, chairs and a barbeque; the other is also enclosed and is a grassed area. It too has a table, benches and outside games i.e. swing ball, boule etc. There is private parking at the front of the cottage.

A stable door leads from the secluded area of walled garden into the hallway. The sitting room has comfy sofas which both convert into sofa beds for extra guests. Also in the sitting room is a LCD flat screen TV. There is further comfy seating and another TV in the dining/family room which also has a dining table and French doors leading outside to the decked patio - a suntrap and an ideal spot for barbeques. The kitchen is fitted with stylish units and a 5-burner gas hob. The family bathroom is fully tiled and the bath has an overhead shower.

On the first floor there are two twin bedrooms (with space to have the beds pushed together) and a further single bedroom. There is also a shower room. The property is light and airy throughout and is tastefully decorated.

Location:
The village of Crail is situated in the Kingdom of Fife, follow roads signs for Crail.
On entering Crail, from the Anstruther direction, follow road around past the hotel on the right, and take first turning left into Bowling Green Road. After 50yds on this road take a left turn and The Byre is at the bottom of this lane.

The Byre in Crail is rented out year round.
Change over is on a Saturday; arrival time is 4pm, departure time 10am. Short breaks and weekends are available, please request details.
