Golf Lodge Cottage is well placed within the charming seaside town of North Berwick, being only a short walk away from the town's quaint high street which offers an array of restaurants, bars and tea shops, and the famous North Berwick West Links Golf Course. Indeed the town hosts another golf course, The Glen, which is a hidden gem with fantastic views across the Firth of Forth.

The abundance of visitor attractions on offer include the award winning Scottish Seabird Centre which is located by the harbour - this is a must for all nature lovers and bird enthusiasts. Daily boat excursions offer close up visits to the bird sanctuary on the Bass Rock and surrounding islands. For the energetic, perhaps a climb up North Berwick Law, a 600 ft high former volcanic mound, from where a breathtaking view awaits.

The town is an ideal base for a family holiday, North Berwick boasts some of the finest sandy beaches in Scotland. The outdoor paddling pool on East Bay is popular for families with young children along with nearby putting greens and tennis courts.

Other attractions within a short drive away include Dirleton and Tantallon castles, The stately homes Lennoxlove House and Gosford House; The Museum of Flight; Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery; and John Muir Country Park.

Golf Lodge Cottage is situated in the heart of East Lothian, making it an ideal base for golfers wishing to sample some of Scotland's finest courses including North Berwick West, Muirfield, Gullane and Dunbar. North Berwick train station is a mere 5 minutes walk from the lodge where a journey into Scotland's historic capital, Edinburgh, takes just 30 minutes.

Accommodation:

Golf Lodge cottage is located to the rear of Golf Lodge Bed & Breakfast. Having been recently renovated it now offers superb self catering accommodation for small groups. Golf Lodge Cottage also provides the ideal base for families being only a few minutes walk away from the beach and town centre.

The two bedroom cottage is fully self contained with its own front door leading to the hall and stair. On the ground floor is a semi open plan space, hosting a cosy living room with a double sofa bed and matching armchair, digital TV and DVD player. On the other side of the sub dividing wall is a modern fully fitted kitchen with hob and oven, microwave, washer/dryer and fridge. Leading through a glass door from the living room is the south facing sunroom looking on to its own garden; here is a pine dining table and 6 chairs together with some soft seating, a well stocked book shelf and a selection of board games. The fenced garden can be accessed through the sunroom where sheltered private seating area is provided.

The two bedrooms are located upstairs leading off a small landing. Both bedrooms have two single beds and fitted wardrobes. Off the same landing is the bathroom with walk in shower. There is gas central heating throughout the cottage along with free Wi-Fi. The cottage is non smoking.

Directions:

To North Berwick From Edinburgh by road: Take the A1 south towards Dunbar. Take the A198 signposted Tranent and North Berwick and follow A198 through Aberlady and Gullane. As you come into North Berwick, turn right at the first set of traffic lights into South Hamilton Road. The car park is 20yds along on the left hand side.

To North Berwick From Newcastle by Road: Take the A1 North past Dunbar. Take the junction for North Berwick signposted A198 North Berwick. Follow A198 through Whitekirk into North Berwick. As you come into the town turn right at the mini roundabout by the Ben Sayers offices. Pass the Rugby club and turn left into St Baldreds Road, following signs for Edinburgh. Follow the road until you pass the Fire Station (1 mile) then turn left at T Junction onto Dirleton Avenue. At traffic lights turn left into South Hamilton Road. The car park is 20yds along on the left hand side.

Usually 7 day lets, Saturday - Saturday but can be flexible. Check in time 3pm, departure time 10.30am.
