Lammermuir Cottage is a delightful farm cottage set at the foot of the rolling East Lothian countryside. It is a wonderful base for exploring East Lothian, Edinburgh and the beautiful Borders. The cottage has been recently renovated to provide comfortable accommodation suited to both families and couples. Whether you wish to take it easy and relax, or head for Edinburgh only 30 minutes away, you will no doubt enjoy your time spent here.

The surrounding area offers much for those wishing to get out and about. In addition to the 19 golf courses within 20 miles, there is also hill walking, horse-riding, surfing, fishing, scenic drives, cycling, whisky-tasting and castles to explore. Should you decide to eat out there are numerous restaurants scattered throughout East Lothian to satisfy all budgets and gastronomic requirements.

With over 40 miles of suberb coastline with glorious sandy beaches, amazing bird-life, pretty countryside for walking, riding or cycling in, award-winning tourist attractions and excellent links golf courses, East Lothian offers something for everyone. Although only a short drive or train ride into the centre of Edinburgh with all its delights, you are in a rural idyll. Country houses and historic castles, the Scottish Seabird Centre, the National Museum of Flight (with tours on Concorde), Musselburgh Racecourse with 26 race meetings a year and Glenkinchie Distillery - the variety of things to see and do nearby is extensive.

Accommodation:
Lammermuir Cottage is nestled close to the foot of the Lammermuir Hills, in the stunning East Lothian countryside. The former grieve's cottage has been extensively refurbished to provide modern self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people. Each room has been tastefully decorated to provide a country cottage feel to the house.

On the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen/living area, a separate dining area and the 2 twin bedrooms plus a separate bathroom. A further double en-suite bedroom is located at first floor level. The cottage is enclosed in its own private garden with views to the Lammermuirs and provides the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside, coastal areas and Scottish Borders. Despite the rural location, the bright lights of Edinburgh are a mere 20 miles from your doorstep.

Location:
Directions by road: Travelling north/south on the A1, leave the motorway where signposted for Haddington. Through the Town Centre following signs to Gifford, after 0.25 miles go over the bridge next to the Waterloo Bistro then take first right (signposted Bolton). Follow the road for approx 4 miles then turn right at the staggered crossroads (signposted East Saltoun / Pencaitland) then take immediate left (signposted Humbie). After approx 3.5 miles, take the small road to left (signposted Stobshiel and Leaston). After approx 1 mile turn right (signposted Leaston) and the cottage is the first house on the left.

Travelling North on the A68: turn right on A68 at the bottom of Soutra Hill (signposted Haddington) and follow the road for approx 3 miles (through Humbie village and down hill). Approx 1 mile after Humbie turn right (signposted Leaston) and follow the road for 1.5 miles. The cottage is the last house on the right - opposite a farm steading.

Travelling South on the A68: Leave A68 at Fala village, (signposted Humbie / Haddington). Travel approx 3 miles and at the T-Junction turn left (signposted Humbie). Follow the road for approx 1.5 miles (through Humbie village and down hill). Approx 1 mile after Humbie turn right (signposted Leaston) and follow the road for 1.5 miles. The cottage is the last house on the right - opposite a farm steading.

What's included:
Heating is included in the rental price. 1 x basket of logs are supplied for the open fire. Further logs are available at a small cost.
All bed linen and towels are provided.

Cost and availability. Change over day is Saturday. Check out time is 10.30am and check in at 4.00pm.
Weekend/short breaks available on request.
Disabled guests - There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor with an open plan living/kitchen. There is however a stone step into the cottage of about 6 inches.
