Craiglarach Cottage Aboyne, Aberdeenshire

Craiglarach Cottage is a attractive holiday cottage near Aboyne and is ideal for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in Deeside. Comfortable and tastefully decorated, this 19th century detached cottage is in a secluded - but not remote - rural setting. It has beautiful views across fields, woods and hills, and is only a short walk from the River Dee, but less than a mile from the centre of Aboyne village.

Aboyne lies on the A93 between Banchory and Ballater, on the north bank of the River Dee and is an attractive and lively village. It was largely developed in the 19th century, with houses and shops built around the village green with the river running parallel to the south of the green, backed by the surrounding hill. The village green is the pivotal point of the village where the Aboyne Highland Games are held on the first Saturday of August, there is also a children's play area.

Activities in Deeside include walking, golfing, horse riding, fishing, gliding, water ski-ing, snow ski-ing. You can walk from the cottage into the hills or take a short drive into Glen Tanar or to other stunning hills and glens in Deeside. Other attractions include castles, churches, gardens, whisky distilleries, National Trust properties. Aboyne is an excellent centre for visiting all these attractions and this is a perfect self-catering cottage to stay in and explore all that this area has to offer - the attractions are numerous!

Accommodation: The cottage consists of one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, sitting room with wood burner, TV, DVD, video, radio/CD and tape player, kitchen with dining area with fridge, dishwasher and microwave, bathroom with over bath shower and a separate shower room and toilet, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is full central heating in the property and underfloor heating in the kitchen and main bathroom. There is also a heated mirror in the main bathroom, - very important for any chap shaving! This is a fabulous self-catering cottage to rent near Aboyne, with an excellent range of good places to eat (including pub food) close by. Location: The holiday cottage is 1 miles from Aboyne village - directions will be sent on booking. What's included: All linen, towels, electricity, and logs are included. Availability: Rental periods are generally Saturday-Saturday, arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am - every effort will be made to accommodate other times.
