Wonderful opportunities for walking and sightseeing with the stunning John Muir coastal walk passing the door. Stroll through the smugglers tunnel to Ancient Cove Harbour famous for its natural arch and where families can picnic or explore the rockpools. Walk along the clifftop to the award winning beach at Pease Bay, a surfer’s paradise and nature reserve; or walk to Dunglass Church with its 12-century ruins. Also within walking distance and not to be missed are the 40 million year old rock formations at Siccar Point. Whether you want a short circular route or are more adventurous embarking on the Southern Upland Way or Sir Walter Scott Way this cottage makes an ideal base.
Bridle Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring East Lothian and the Scottish Borders. Historic sites of the Border Country such as Mellerstain, Thirlestain Castle and Floors Castle are a short drive away. East Lothian is well known for its golf courses including the famous Muirfield at Gullane. North Berwick is a must for a day out whether for a trip around the spectacular Bass Rock to view the puffins or simply to watch them from the warmth of the Award Winning Seabird Centre. Dunbar, the home of John Muir and closest town for all amenities, has activities for all the family including a swimming pool with waves and flumes and Children’s Farm. Drive to the festival city of Edinburgh (40 minutes) or walled town of Berwick (25 minutes) with its local market. The coastline around this cottage is spectacular and in whichever direction you travel you will not be disappointed.

This recently refurbished self-catering cottage in the Scottish Borders offers superb accommodation for 4 by the sea.
Accommodation:
Bridle Cottage is stone-built and offers lovely accommodation on two floors. The upstairs, with stunning sea views, has a gorgeous living room/dining kitchen. Downstairs there are two bedrooms; one double and one twin with en suite shower room. There is also a family shower room. Outside there is ample parking space.

Dirctions are available at time of booking - the self-catering cottage is on the Scottish coast, 8 miles south of Dunbar.

Rental periods are generally arrival 4 pm departure 10 am - there is however flexibility to accommodate alternative times. Short-breaks are available.
