Melfort Pier and Harbour Loch Melfort, Argyll

Melfort Pier and Harbour is right on the shores of Loch Melfort. There are 15 luxury loch side houses, each with sauna, spa bath, log fire, 2 colour TVs with Skysport/movies and some with sunbed. They are designed to provide all home comforts and modern, superb holiday accommodation. This is a very peaceful and idyllic part of Argyll with lots to do in the area - although many people just relax by the loch and enjoy the fantastic views of Loch Melfort from your private balcony or patio. Seven houses are suitable for disabled visitors (to Cat 2) and there is also an electric wheelchair available at no charge.

The area has great hill walking, wildlife watching, biking and wonderful beaches. You can fish off the ancient pier, or use the row boat or canoe, all free of charge. With good shopping in Oban 16 miles away, castles and gardens to explore, and island hopping this is an ideal base for touring all of Argyll. Wonderful loch side restaurant onsite - The Melfort Mermaid serving freshly cooked local food. 100 disabled friendly. Children welcome. There are a number of other excellent restaurants and pubs nearby.

Dogs very welcome, as are children of all ages - and it is also ideal for a romantic break. You can also bring your boat!

 

Accommodation:
The modern facilities are luxurious and everything is of a very high standard. Each of the 15 houses is to a different design, but what they all have in common is a stunning view over the loch, and your very own sauna - an unusual and fabulous treat in each holiday cottage. Many of the houses are ideal for honeymoons and romantic breaks. Parking space by each house.

Most bedrooms have king-sized beds, ensuite bathrooms with spa baths and separate showers. Most of the comfortable sitting/dining rooms have a log fire - lovely to sit in front of throughout the year.

All properties have underfloor heating throughout to keep you warm and cosy in the winter. The kitchens have every facility and equipment you will need for your holiday – whether for a gourmet treat or a simple snack.

Our disabled access houses are on one floor with ramps, easy parking and all the necessary aids in the bathroom. Please enquire which house is most suitable for your needs. One house even has a sauna with wheel chair access.

Directions:
Loch Melfort is 18 miles south of Oban. From Oban take the A816 south to Kilmelford. Just after Kilmelford turn right onto the single track road to Degnish for 1 1/2 miles. You will see signs for Melfort Pier and Harbour. Turn left at Melfort Village gate post sign and a further 1/2 mile brings you to Melfort Pier & Harbour.

What's included:
Price includes all heating, electricity, fire wood, towels and bed linen. Charge for cot/high chair £10; pets £15 each. Free use of canoe, row boat and fishing from pier.

The houses are rented out year round. Office open 7 days a week.
