This lovely holiday cottage on Ardnamurchan is newly built to 5 star standards, Green Gold Award and Category 1 wheelchair access. It is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts with the Ariundle Oakwoods a short walk away and only four miles to the Garbh Eilean Hide. The Ardnamurchan Peninsula has a wide range of activities to suit everyone from sandy beaches at Sanna to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, the most westerly point on the British mainland. The Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre is a wonderful day out.

The small isles of Muck, Rhum and Eigg are a day's boat trip from Arisaig, where whales and dolphins are an almost daily sight. Mull and Iona are also possible in a day trip. The Peninsula is ideal for cycling, walking and kayaking on the sheltered Loch Sunart. Fishing trips can be arranged and the owners can take you mackerel fishing.

Fort William is not far away with winter ski-ing and the summer gondola ride up the mountain of Aonach Mor with wonderful views and walks at the top and nearby Ben Nevis is only a half hour drive from Bluebell Croft. Strontian, although bordering on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula with mostly single track roads, is only 15 minutes on a fast road to the Corran Ferry so easily accessible to Fort William and Skye and beyond to the north and Glencoe and Oban to the south. This is an ideal self-catering Ardnamurchan cottage to rent and you will be assured of a wonderful holiday here!

Accommodation:
Rose Cottage is newly built to 5 star standards with every comfort throughout. It has been built on an elevated site with wonderful views up the Strontian Glen to the often snow-covered mountains and also there is a peak of the sea from the very sunny secluded patio. The self-catering cottage is very spacious and the sitting room has a cathedral ceiling with a full height brick chimney and wood burning stove. The downstairs king size double has a huge wet room off it, ideal for those who use a wheelchair or with mobility problems. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a small shower room. Rose has 2 patio doors one from the bedroom to a very sunny secluded patio area and one from the sitting room, as Rose Cottage shares a giant hot tub with the house next door.

The owners have a working croft with Jersey cow and calf, pigs, chickens, ducks and geese and grow a lot of produce for their guests to enjoy: together with home-smoked and home-made products that can be ordered from an extensive list. Arrive to enjoy complimentary home-made scones and jam, organic bread, and Fair-trade Coffee, tea and sugar. Suppers and dinners can be ordered from the 'Rural Chef of the Year' or even a casserole in the oven awaiting your arrival, so you don't have to cook every night! Children will love it - there is a trampoline and table tennis and the 6 1/2 acre croft to play in together, with the company of the owners' 5 school age children. Dogs are welcome with great care.

Directions:
To find this lovely holiday cottage on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula: 10 miles before you get to and south of Fort William take the Corran Ferry which goes at 1/4 to and 1/4 past the hour. On the other side turn left and Strontian is 12 miles away. In the middle of the village go over the bridge and immediately turn right and the cottage is half a mile on the left just in front of the huge poly-tunnel and big vegetable garden.

Rose Cottage is rented out year round.
Rental periods are generally a week, Friday to Friday, but short breaks are welcome except in high season. Checking in time is 4pm and checking out is 10am - or otherwise by arrangement.
