This lovely Argyll self-catering accommodation is on the shores of Loch Etive and is a self-contained wing of a stunning 18th century house, set in beautiful grounds. There is an oak-pannelled drawing-room, 2 enormous bedrooms and an amazing period bathroom. The period furniture (including a piano) are lovely and add to the splendour of this historic holiday house. This is a very fine holiday house near Oban in the breathtakingly-beautiful countryside of Argyll. The house is in an idyllic situation between Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan - you can walk along the beach or climb the mountain.
Argyll is a gorgeous part of Scotland and perfect for a self-catering holiday. The luxury accommodation and delightful gardens make this a special place to stay. The pretty village of Taynuilt is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the holiday accommodation and has a good range of local shops including a butcher; and the hotel is a great place to eat. A boat trip up Loch Etive is a great day out - you can visit some very remote and wild parts of Argyll and watch the seals.
Inverawe Estate is a 10 minute walk so you can stock up on their delicious smoked salmon and other goodies - great for picnics or easy self catering meals. Bonawe House has other self-catering accommodation so if you are two or more families on holiday together then you can rent separate cottages on the same estate.

Accommodation:
This lovely holiday cottage is a very spacious wing of a historic house. It is furnished with period furniture and set in gorgeous grounds on the shores of Loch Etive. On the ground floor there is a magnificent large oak-panelled drawing room (with a piano and feature fireplace), a well-equipped kitchen/dining room, a utility room and a WC. There is a separate entrance to the holiday property from the garden.
The master bedroom is on the first floor and is very large and grand - as befits a Georgian country house - and the twin room is also huge.
Both have glorious views over Loch Etive. The period bathroom has a lovely traditional bath and a hand shower.
This is a lovely house to relax in, stroll in the garden or along the loch's shore.
What's included:
All accommodation is fully equipped, including a duvet, electric blanket, two pillows and one blanket per bed. Bed linen is provided and included.
What's not included:
Towels and electricity excluded.
Cots and high chairs can usually be provided if requested in advance. Towels - available on request at £5 per person per week.
Groceries can be delivered prior to your arrival in Taynuilt - shop details on request.
Directions:
Arrive at Taynuilt on the main Crianlarich
to Oban road (A85) and opposite the Taynuilt Hotel, take the turn off marked "Village Centre". Continue past the shops and over a bridge to a sharp left turn (approximately 1/2 mile, marked to Bonawe Furnace). The road itself bends sharp right here. Turn sharp left up the hill to a church and turn sharp right (100m, if the road starts to go down hill, you have gone too far!). Go past some houses for about 800m then at the end of the tarmac take the left fork to an avenue of beech trees and the driveway to Bonawe House.
Cost and availability:
The property is rented out year round.
The rental rates are for the whole holiday accommodation. Short
breaks are welcome during off peak season (Nov to Mar - excl. school holidays - min 2 nights).
10% discount for over 50's and people who have stayed before on weekly bookings outside of school
holidays.
