Ormidale House Glendarudel, Argyll

Ormidale House is a beautiful large historic house has 13 bedrooms, three sitting rooms and a billiard room as well as a large dining hall, kitchen and breakfast room. The space and luxurious finishings mean it is ideal for a large family gathering or several families on holiday together. With the two new development properties on the estate - about 100 yeards away - Ormidale can actually accommodate a party of up to 66 people.

Nestling in 20 acres of grounds, laid out by renowned Victorian landscaper Thomas Mawson at the same time as Robert Lorimer designed the 19th century extension to the main house - with a river, waterfalls, lochen and beautiful woods - it is the perfect venue for a party. There is so much entertainment provided in the house and gardens that you will have plenty to keep children (and adults!) amused - large trampoline, bikes, croquet lawn, bouncy castle, and, unusually in a Scottish self-catering house, a swimming pool. A tennis court is under construction for 2009.

This large self-catering house is situated just above the Kyles of Bute, in the spectacular Argyll countryside. Immediate access into the forests and onto the mountains mean this is a fabulous base for walkers. Sailing, golf, fishing, shooting, and stalking of the highest quality are all available locally and there are golf clubs and fishing rods provided. The owners are also happy to arrange other activities such as clay-pigeon shooting, archery, paint-balling or off road driving - just let them know what you would like to do and they will try to organise it for your group.

The house has everything a large group on holiday could need - log fires, lots of entertainment (both indoors and outside), fabulous estate to explore and numerous places to see and explore nearby. If you don't want to cook on your self-catering holiday then a cook can be arranged or the award-winning chefs at An Lochan, Tighnabruich, will come and cook a celebration meal or two. This is perfect for a luxury break in a country house for a large party.

Ormidale House is an ideal place to stay if you are having a large party to celebrate a special family occasion or want a large holiday property to rent with your family or group of friends. The accommodation has everything you will need for a happy holiday in Scotland. There is an elegant drawing room (with a log fire), a dining hall, play rooms for adults and children, billiard room, table tennis room, a luxury large kitchen and lovely bedrooms and bathrooms.

Price includes all heating, electricity, towels, bed linen and an initial supply of logs.

Cost and availability:
This large holiday house is rented out year round.

Prices:
This is the first year of rental so the prices are well below the normal rates for such large houses - if you want a bargain large house this is it! Long weekends cost not much more than £50 per person!! A full week's holiday in the summer for five families sharing will cost as little as £700 per family.

The rental rates are for the whole house. Weekend and short breaks welcome in mid and low season.

Good House Keeping Deposit £500 (fully refundable as long as the house is left in good order)
